I’LL Be Banned ?

This kid got an A+ for this paper

BY A 15 yr. OLD SCHOOL KID

(TOTALLY AWESOME)!

Since the Pledge of Allegiance

And The Lord’s Prayer

Are not allowed in most

Public schools anymore

Because the word ‘God’ is mentioned…..

A kid in Arizona wrote the attached

NEW School prayer:

“New Pledge of Allegiance”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That’s no offense; it’s a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God’s name is prohibited by the state.
We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks…
They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the ‘unwed daddy,’ our Senior King.
It’s ‘inappropriate’ to teach right from wrong,
We’re taught that such ‘judgments’ do not belong..
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles…
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It’s scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school’s a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
  1. It’s very true what this lad has written, I think the politically correct stance has gone way beyond being helpful or even justified..this young man deserved an A for being so insightful. Thanks for posting this Cathy…oh yes may I copy it please?
  2. Great post Mac – political correctness seems to have gone TOO far in many cases in many countries… still getting used to “person hole cover” instead of “manhole cover” lol xxxx
  3. Remember the days mac my friend of standing on the school parade ground singing God save our Queen and saluting the flag before marching into school, when we had religious instruction once a week at state school, when we had values, ethics, morals, we wore a uniform, no makeup or jewellery allowed, we were just kids with a keen sense of right and wrong. School was a safe place, we valued the values of the day and life was fairly simple, school during the week, Brownies then Guides on Saturdays while the boys did Cubs then Scouts and CMF training, yes they were training to defend our country should they be needed, our 15 and 16 year olds. Sunday school or church on Sundays and the delicious lamb roast! We all had our roles to live up to. Remember “bob a job” lol helping out the neighbours to benefit the Guides and Scouts and when we completed school on a Friday there was no “schoolies week” getting trashed and trashing the hotel rooms, we would have had a big police number 10 or 11/12 up the backside, we had a school dance on the Saturday night, for me, at Cloudland in Brisbane, no grog, drugs were not heard of, all very innocent and then we were busy preparing to start work on the Monday, in my case giving my parents a third of my six pounds lol for board. I hear what you are saying mac and I defend your right to say it. We are now so “governed” in every aspect of our lives. Well off my hobby horse lol this post in no way is meant to offend any one, it is my statement of how things were for me and my opinion of the sorry, crazy state of affairs today. Good blog mac xxx
    1. Yes skip I remember being taught respect ,respect for others their things and other people’s things.was an everyday thing and respect for our elders.
    2. I agree with you skippy,most kids today have no respect for anyone….teaching them anything today as gone out the window…
      your police, teaches and even parents are not allowed to do the most basic of teaching…..so is there any wonder that they are like they are…
  4. I have not problem with public schools not teaching religion …if we want our children to learn religion we send them to a religious school , or teach them at home …that’s simple .
    Public education needs to cater for everyone . And not everyone has the same beliefs .
    That boy still found a way to pray …praying aloud is preaching , praying to ourselves it’s all we need .
    It seems that that boy felt insecure at his school … I feel that is a different story altogether .
    1. Ok , let me re-phrase it …praying aloud in a public place may be seen as preaching …praying to ourselves is all we need , is between our God and us .
      That probably sums up better what I’ve meant to say 🙂 .
      1. Thank you Nmod, I almost had to respond. LOL, but I thought I knew what you meant. My faith is strong and steady, I dont care or mind who prays to whomever around me, I know who my God is accordingly. And for me, just my belief, hearing other’s pray to whomever doesnt affect my belief. Now if you are trying to preach to me…well thats another story…
  5. Yep! That’s more like it nmod! I understand now what you were trying to say. See? we didn’t fall out over it did we? Proves my point on another blog!..:) 🙂
  6. Thank you for this post mac.
    I am always amazed at how people can have “freedom of speech” until God or the Bible is mentioned. I am also amazed at how so many different views and beliefs are “freedom of speech”are voiced and we are suppose to allow yet when it comes to a truth such as “the creator” is mentioned it’s offensive. Freedom of speech is so wonderful until God is mentioned. We are not a “free” society at all. We are free to speak as long as we all agree. That is wrong period. It’s censorship. What if I am offended of blue hair? Do I complain and have laws passed for everyone to be blonde or red? What I am saying is, where does this stop? Your “opinion” or belief should not be legislated as law! We have allowed God to be legislated out of the public sector for the most part. If that is not censorship I don’t know what is. I for one do not “preach” and attempt to legislate my personal belief on anyone. Please don’t mistake voicing of opinion as such. Im just saying the next time you hear the words “freedom of speech” just remember who and what it refers to. You are free to your opinion until it disagrees. I personally have a real issue with those who redefine the definition of freedom to fit their own agenda. Free is free in any language period. If you are “free” to not believe the aren’t we “free” to disagree? If one is “free” not to believe in The God” then don’t them who do have that same “freedom” without fear of retribute? This post is not meant to be interpreted as religion of my beliefs, rather just a opinion of “freedom.
    1. I really like what you have written…and everyone is entitled to their own ‘truth’ in such areas and each ‘truth’ deserves respect.. I have absolute respect for everyone’s personal belief’s, I respect their freedom and right to that. But what I found hard is to get that same respect back so my own freedom is denied in that way in my view.
  7. J, It’s not fair or consistent in this day and age at all, but we cater to the ones who make the biggest noise b/c that’s whose voices are heard. I’m not convinced that is the majority at all but b/c some, for whatever reason, do not speak out we all are legislated into silence. I don’t see the tide turning back, so it’s something we have to live with and do our best to balance the scales by calling out hypocrisy where we see it and MOST importantly doing our part to teach the truth to our children. Teaching and then modeling are the two most effective tools that we have. And of course, we still have the democratic process of voting. Thank goodness we still have rights and a voice. We need to take advantage of those “freedoms” while we still have them…
