I Write Therefore- I am
I write some prose/ some poetry along with parody and some rather silly pieces.
Being new I’m not sure what people would respond to? 🤔
I used to write on a blog site, and although I can still access the site I really don’t write there anymore mostly because I can’t remember the password.😂
I used to write on another social site which I just left, because it is becoming something I don’t want to be a part of. My longer pieces did not get a lot of responses there. 😬
This site seems different even though, I haven’t been here very long. You see more into forming relationships than just reltying on the superficial. 😊
I’ll admit I am not much of a chatter, I tend to talk in a direct to the point sort of way.
However, over the years being on other social sites I realize that comes across as not being interested, I was interested, but my communication skills were poor and I sometimes felt I had not much to talk about.
I hope ,I’m getting better especially since I joined a place called senior chatters 😃

Eden67 Welcome to the site. At one time we had a poetry group and maybe you would like to start another one. Members can start groups on this site. i would start one but I already have three groups as a leader or coleader. I like reading and discussing poetry more than writing it.

Eden I also write poetry and also short stories.
Both my poems and stories are about anything.

@Eden67 Great blog, keep writing them. A few members do stick to their handful of friends or their own groups. It is so hard for newbies to push their way in when friendships are already formed, and they feel like the odd one out. Many newbies that I speak to say that is the only problem they find with this site. I dont know if it is the amount of scammers we get that scares the regular members off engaging with newbies or they just like their handful of chat friends. Either way keep on writing your blogs, they are great. I am glad you joined 6 months ago and have started to write your blogs.

@Eden67 Not everyone though. You will find some members who are happy to interact outside their circle. Everyone is different and here for different reasons. Your blogs will be good to read.

I was on another site where I had a few people I liked they went a very dark way that I had to leave.
Please keep writing. Its always great to read something new. Its what keeps the site interesting and fun. 🙏

When it comes to poetry, I don’t think it matters so much about what people think as it does what it means to you as a writer. In the very short time I was in a literature class at school, I realised that different people can interpret poetry and verse in different ways.
We all interpret everything through our own lens usually.
Absolutely. It’s also what’s great about being on this site to be honest. People from different countries with different cultures, different words for the same things even with the English language, humour which sometimes bridges those gaps and sometimes doesn’t. It’s all good.
Humor can help in the right situations for sure.
I try to be careful if it’s something sensitive because nobody wants to feel like they’re laughed at -they want to be laughed with
I wish I was blessed with knowing what appropriate humour is. In reality I’m probably more likely to laugh inappropriately or say something inappropriate thinking that it’ll be funny and make people laugh. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work out like that 😂

Like you, I am a free member on this site. I’ve not yet seen any benefit to becoming a paid up member on this site. Given the experience I have had here so far I cannot see me upgrading my membership any time soon and find I am spending less and less time on here.
I also write a lot of poetry/short stories and have tried them out on the site by posting them in my blog, as it is one of the few avenues I have of communicating with anyone else on here. I’ve found that poetry/short stories generate very little interest so I stopped it. Though general blogging works far better.
It really depends on what you want/expect from this site I guess as I am not fussed on chat rooms and cannot access any groups. I also often get email notifications of friend requests, but when I go to check those out there is never anything there.
What I would say is just try things on your blog and see what happens. It may work better for you than it has for me.
Well I paid the $12 for one month that was to see if I think it’s worth it or not
