Hope Not Shadows and Gloom

Well, we can all look around and say the world is going to hell in a handbasket, and we are facing loss of all kinds, and fears of every sort. How do we manage to find more love and joy and peace than the dark gloomy frightening things? How can we be HOPEFUL enough to be a source of hope and strength to the younger people and others? We all have enough fear and gloom and doom and nobody wants more. So how do you find love and light and sunshine in your life and maybe you will share it here? Also, how do you share and spread light and love to others to help them chase the shadows away?

  1. Rose, some people are pessimists and some are optimists…………doom and gloom has always existed in the world and always will…………..how you cheer people up depends on your personality and outlook on life………….i know that if you mix with miserable people they can soon bring you down, and whatever you say or do cannot change their personality………….some people just love moaning and they are happy doing that, let them……….go find the happy peeps whose company you enjoy……………as for the young, most are hopeful and starting on their lives journey, give them confidence and encourage them to reach for the stars, anything is possible if you want it enough,……….big world out there…………go take it..x

  2. What a great blog, Rose. Thanks for asking these questions, because who doesn’t need encouragement and hope? Everyone does at one time or another during their lives. Even optimists like me, can get discouraged, depressed and have a bad attitude at times.
To feel better, I sometimes talk or write my burdens out to a family member or friend. Other times, I purposely take a break from dwelling on the depressing stuff, by listening to my favorite music, or doing something different than usual. You know, break out of my rut. I often pray, ask God to forgive me of my bad attitude and ask Him to help me be grateful for all that is going right, instead of what’s going wrong. I try to fill my mind with positive things, even in my choices of entertainment. I find that it makes a big difference.
To help someone who is down, I try to be a good listener and make myself available if possible. I try to point them to positive things, but without making light of their pain.
