Home sweet home

Hi ya’ll I decided to conversate about my humble roots. After the Battle of Culloden in the 45 my ol’ kin found greener pastures free from tyranny in the Cool Green Mountains of America. Now my Ma and Pa live off the land groeing greens in the plot and feasting on ‘coon an ‘possum stew.Moonshine is our cheef sorce of getting vittles from the country store. My brudder Bo sits around allday on the porch plucking his banjo an’ sinnin songs that go so far back we jist can’t reckon. Our ol’ Blue tick hound, Sounder jist lay at his side scritchin flees and waiting for the next coon hunt. When Sounder kitches the scent of a coon or possum hes hellbent on treeing that varmit. Now I heer tel of people who liv in highfaluting ways with more land then they need thinking ther better then most. But here in the clen we’all are perfectly satisfyed with the 40 acres and that stubbin ol’ mule Moses. WE’s git the job dun reel good. Oh and next week on my 13th birthing day I plan to get hitched to my cousin Clem. Me and him hav had eyes fer each otter since babes in the cradle. Ya’ll are invited to the weddin. It will be a real shindig with fiddles and mouth organs banjos and my favrit a dobro there will be plinty of stomping too. So cum one an all theres enuff room for all our kin, plus some. Ya’ll cum back now ya heer!

  1. Thank your for the memories of your childhood home,it’s good to think back at how we started. We have forgotten those ways now as we don’t come together as often ,which is a shame, and the world has gotten smaller they say with air travell. I think it has widened us as children move further afield, thanks nice blog.

  2. The ability to laugh at ourselves and all the subcultures that make our Nation great is what Americans have. I am from the Empire State of New York born and raised On Eastern Long Island. New England in nature whaling, fishing, clamming, and saving the so-called upper class and their snotty progeny from drowning in the Atlantic The blog was about the Scots-Irish who live far from civilization but are still valuable to us as a country. We are great with the mixed blood of a thousand nations that’s what makes us unique oh and Australia too. So I am never jealous of riches and property. I live with peace and there’s nothing better than that.
