Food development : Help the study

Hello everyone!

If you are interesting by food and health, here is survey from the University of Hawaii for a study about food products and adds targeting people over 50. If you want to help, here is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/foodads

Here are more information:

The Health Behavior Change Research (HBCR) workgroup of the University of Hawaii is conducting a voluntary and anonymous survey about Food and Drink advertisement for older adults.
As you may know, the population is aging and the amount of seniors is growing. Seniors have different needs and wishes about food than children or young adults, and they would enjoy specific food products and ads made just for them!
The question is: What types of food and drink ads do older adults like? What kind of advertising do they find attractive?
That’s where we need you. The goal of this study is to understand what kind of advertisements you want to see; what you like, and what you find effective.
We’d like to invite you to participate if you are over 50 years old.
The survey will take about 20-30min to complete and consists of 3 parts:
– a Demographic Questionnaire: to know a bit more about you.
– a Food Frequency Questionnaire: to know what you usually eat.
– a Multiple Choice Questionnaire: to know what kind of ads you like and find effective.
Your participation in this study will be greatly appreciated and could help in the future to create products that you would enjoy.

  1. I don’t pay attention to ANY advertising, so I think my participation in the survey would be rather useless. I’ve never felt like I needed to buy anything that was advertised. Just not my style.

  2. What a waste of a post, typical of an American multiple choice, tick the boxes and learn how to stop making those long sentences with an answer,. trust it the US army to come up with that, just made it easier for the entrants to join up, after that the world is now stuck with multiple choices, stick it as far as the crow flies.
Multiple choice is a form of assessment in which respondents are asked to select the best possible answer (or answers) out of the choices from a list.[1] If guessing an answer, there’s usually a 25 percent chance of getting it correct on a 4 answer choice question. Finding the right answer from multiple choices can be automated using multiple choice question answering systems.[2] The multiple choice format is most frequently used in educational testing, in market research, and in elections, when a person chooses between multiple candidates, parties, or policies. The first all multiple choice, large scale assessment was the Army Alpha, used to assess the intelligence and more specifically the aptitudes of World War I military recruits. Multiple choice testing is particularly popular in the United States.
    Little info taken from Google.

    1. Thank you once again Professor Ted for enlightening all of us ignorant folks with your infinite wisdom. You are absolutely right, here in the US we are incapable of answering an essay question. When I was taking my three university degrees in the Ivy League I was so relieved I could do it all by simply choosing A, B, C or D.

  3. Iv noticed lately on telly ,a plethora of ads for Funeral Insurance.
One, lets call it “Real deal Insurance”,has a split screen with a healthy looking woman asking a receptionist “I,d like a quote over the phone”
    It goes like this,
R D I…”Sure,Just tell me your age and smokers status”
    H L W…”Im 32 and a non smoker”
    R D I …”Great ! You can get $5000 insurance for $2;38 a week”
    H L W… “That sounds wonderful”
(No mention ,mind ,of the 16 pages of small print in the contact)

Yesterday I was feeling cheesed off with these sharks,So I rang Real Deal Insurance.
Me…”Hello.Id like a quote over the phone”
R D I …”Sure, said a young male voice “..(Bugga!,Wheres the bird on telly) “just tell me your age and smokers status”
    Me…”Im 76 and a (cough,cough,wheeze,gasp) “a heavy smoker”
    R D I … (Long silence,then) “F..k off” (click)

I,m still chuckling about it :)…BTW ,I dont smoke .
