FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN

Many of us have lost loved ones this year and we face our first Christmas without them. I lost my father in June and facing the holidays this year has been very difficult. Every Christmas Eve, my family gets together and has a big Christmas dinner, after which someone reads the Christmas story from the Bible, and we all sing “HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS” around a birthday cake for Him. Tonight my brother asked to read this poem, as all of us were missing Daddy, especially my mom, who had been married to Daddy for 69 years. As he read the poem everyone was in tears but when we stopped and thought about the words, it made it just a little easier to celebrate. I don’t know who wrote the poem. I would love to know so credit could be given, but I hope it will bring a bit of comfort to everyone who has lost someone they loved this year.

MY FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN

I see the countless Christmas Trees around the world below,
with tiny lights, like Heavenā€™s stars, reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular. Please wipe away that tear,
for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
but the sounds of music canā€™t compare with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
for it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me. I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not so far away, we really arenā€™t apart.

So be happy for me dear ones. You know I hold you dear.
And be glad Iā€™m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift, from the heavenly home above.
I send you each a memory of my undying love.

After all ā€œLOVEā€ is the gift, more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other, as my father said to do.
For I canā€™t count the blessings or love he has for each of you.

So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away the tear.
Remember, Iā€™m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
