Fire Sale!

As some of you already know we had a house fire at my home on Tuesday evening. We are currently in a hotel room with our 4 dogs………an interesting scenario…….LOL WE spent all day yesterday looking for rental houses but so far have not found anything. We are meeting with our insurance agent again today to discusses options, like rebuilding vs buying a new home. I want to thank you all for you kind words of support. They are greatly appreciated. I will try to keep you updated on our progress.

  1. Merry sorry to hear about the fire. Glad you and the dogs got out in time but feel for you at the loss of your home and the items within of your past times. Hope things go smoothly with your insurance agent. x

  2. Apparently you all escaped physically uninjured from a serious fire and I am glad if that is so. The former neighbors across our street lost their house to a fire while my wife hugged the sobbing wife of the devastated couple. You seem positive yourself and full of inner strength to face the challenge of recovery. Best wishes.

  6. So Sorry to hear about your fire Merry, just glad you and your dogs are safe. Good luck with the Insurance company – they are not always the easiest to deal with, nor do they seem to move quickly. I sincerely hope you have more luck than most… tc (((((hugs)))))))) lina xxxx

  7. Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. Life is hectic to say the least. Hopefully we will have a rental house in the next couple of days and we can slow down a bit. Tomorrow the insurance company is sending in a specialist from Jacksonville to do a full inventory of the contents of the house as well as Serve-Pro, who are fire remediation specialists who will determine if they can clean and restore Items or if they must be trashed. At this point, it is just “stuff” so I am letting Josh oversee the inventory. My lungs can’t take the smoke and odor any more. I have my fur babies, Josh and I are ok and I was able to get my jewelry. They let me take my laptop but they are going to replace it because of the smell and some of the keys stick. I will keep you updated on our progress. Thanks for being YOU!
