Fall Pleasures

Fall Pleasures

I am just getting into summer and it is over, so I don’t want to miss fall; which is the best time of year. The weather has been glorious. The leaves are just beginning to turn. The yard work has slowed down. The young people are back in school. Apple cake, pie and cobbler back on the menu; also pumpkin pie and apple cider.
The travel rates are down and the weather insists on being out and about so I plan to gander about both near and far. In my part of the world, and I hope in yours, I can go a half hour away or an hour and a half or any other number of hours and be in a whole new world, so i look forward to doing it. Right at home we have parks and sports and all sorts of festivals, and arts of all kinds. I do intend to use this fall weather and sights wisely before the winter comes and i hope you do also.

If you are a down under person, you have spring to look forward to and I would like to hear how that works for you, since you celebrate christmas in summer and Easter in autumn. i hope i have that right, but I am sure that you need to enjoy your seasons also.

As you can tell, fall is my favorite time of year; time to feel good; time for harvest and home and time for Thanks giving in my part of the world. To all my down under friends, bear with me and enjoy and I guess it is time for y”all to turn your thoughts to love. With that thought, fall pleasures dim a little. LOL.

    1. Yes Lani, I quite agree….spring is happening here in S Africa, slowly but surely – can’t wait for summer to hit. Hi Roseinbloom, I am a summer person. I don’t like the cold in any form. My ideal weather would be summer 365 days per year, but I guess I’ll just dream on…. 🙂 Keep warm.

    2. Lani, thank you for your comment and our past winter was longer and colder also. and autumn is a chance to feel safe and not reliant on heat and air and as I remember your heat failed last winter. I hope you enjoy your spring..

  3. Autumn in New York! The best time for visiting the city, going to the theater, taking a long walk through Central Park where the leaves are turning yellow, orange and burgundy, sipping a Latte and just people watching. It’s a great to live so close to the city and yet, come back home to New Jersey where we also have gorgeous fall foliage with a backdrop of the New York skyline against a deep azure blue sky. I just love it!

  4. Well being in a temperate climate here in Sydney ,we don’t see that big a change really. Most of our trees are gum trees don’t loose their leaves or turn colour .there are some that do and I love the change in them, but I do enjoy the little nip in the air that comes with autumn .

    1. macathy, Do kookaburras really sit in your gum trees like the song says, or do you know the song? If you don’t I will give you the words.
Kookaburra sits on an old gum tree.
Merry, merry king of the bush is he.
      Laugh Kookaburra laugh
Kookaburra, gay your life must be.
We sang this song in school. i like seasons, but if i never knew them,I guess I would like that too.
