Eat More Cabbage

Eat more foods like cabbage that has been a survival food for many. The cabbage family includes broccoli and brussel sprouts. The point is people need to watch their diet and stick to real food like cabbage, potatoes in their skins, and apples. These foods keep well and are simple to fix and very healthy. We all need to watch our diet and if it is refined, it is probably bad for you, so that powdery snow white flour and rice and sugar need to be kicked to the curb.
I can hear you say, you don’t have the time, but you can manage and if you are already diabetic, you may cure yourself. I have family members who are the younger generation and sicker and predeceasing their parents and the older generation so this is an important subject and I do know what I am talking about. A bad diet can literally destroy your health, so any smart person should manage to eat more foods that are in a natural state and cabbages come highly recommended and are economical and can be bought already prepared; ready for cooking or a dressing. You CAN manage to eat a healthier diet and I hope you will.

  1. The cabbage family is so good for you, I agree with you Bloom. Of course along with it comes a lovely display of “toots”. Maybe it was called a “survival food” because you would never run out of gas??? 😉

  2. Sweetheart cabbage here Rose, dont like the dark green savoy…….too tough……..and as an afterthought………do not overcook, you will boil the goodness out of it, use the water for your gravy….

    1. Star. I cut mine up in bite size pieces and cooked it in very little water and none was left. The cabbage taster much better than cooked in larder wedges. I never thought of making gravy with it though, or soup maybe.
