Drawer knobs

Well at 3.30pm precisely today a thought came into my mind. It came from nowhere I knew and from a place I had never previously been. A random thought that chose me. What was it? It was a thought that encouraged me to replace the beech knobs on my kitchen cupboards with an eclectic mix of vintage knobs. Coat thrown on, I walk to a street nearby well known for antiques and collectables. The plan – to collect vintage drawer knobs over a long period of time repkacing my existing ones one at a time. A hobby, a new distraction. First shop, in the doorway, a box of 24 mixed vintage drawer knobs. What was the chance of that? Cut short all my pirential months of fun. Knobs bought and fitted within 75 minutes. Looking for a new hobby and a use for 24 beech drawer knobs. Suggestions welcomed.

  1. Hi Rosa,This is a real dilemna,24 beech drawer knobs, hmmmm,I know, why dont you paint them white and find a small grassed area and press them into the ground. You now have 24 beech look alike mushrooms at any time and if at any time you had a fancy to replace the new antique ones why then just retrieve the old ones from the garden, clean them up and reinstall them.I hope I`ve contributed to an answer for your vexed problem.

  2. Hi Rosa, how lucky were you to find your little treasure………..as for the Beech knobs, you could screw them onto a nice piece of rectangular shaped wood and make a hanger for any number of things……….each knob painted a different colour would be nice for a children’s room…………….hang onto to the rest of the knobs, you never know when you may need them, says she who has been saving some blue and white ceramic ones for about 7 years after fitting new ones to a dresser………..Well !!……..Justin Case stills lives in my abode…….
