Differences and Similarities

We have spent our lifetimes journeying the paths that were given us. Some of those paths were enjoyable, some were not. Yet they all leaded us here. We chose to remain here for different reasons. Whether it was due to positive or negative influences in our lives, we all arrived here searching for something. Perhaps the something in question is elusive. Or it may be easily named and embraced.

As we make friends and get to know them we are often amazed at how different, yet similar, we all are. Yes, I know that was an oxymoron. True none-the-less. Look around. Everyone you meet has something in common with you. Yet the differences are there as well. We read a blog and think, wow! that was written for me. Another blog, by the same author, and the reaction is what the hell! Some of us want to be entertained while others want to be informed. Some will read anything and comment, others will never comment on anything.

I came here out of boredom. I stayed because I enjoyed the opportunity to speak my mind and to read what other people thought as well. Some of you may disagree with me as I may disagree with some of you. That is as it should be. I don’t mind opposing comments. Especially when written with respect. Insults and/or insinuations are not respectful. I believe I am an intelligent woman and think that you are intelligent as well. So please, when making your comments wite them as you wish me to write mine

  1. Very insightful blog jackie. As you say, we are all different but we have something in common with each other.
From a vast range and distance we live, and yet I can feel a bond with someone 10,000 miles away, and have nothing in common with my next door neighbour.
SC is a great site to be part of. and I agree that all opinions should be welcome as we can learn so much from each other, as long as we are respectful.
    🙂

  3. By all means criticise the opinion or view but not the person, makes such a difference and some seem unable to grasp that skill in real life as well as online.

I love this place, folk make me laugh until I hurt, shed tears because of their pain and rejoice in the support I see being given with such genuine generosity.

  4. Quite agree with what you say Jackie, re respect, good manners cost nothing, and more people are likely to read replys which have been written in a sensible appropriate manner. xx
