Daring to Drag the Old Behind Around Gym

Daring to Drag the Old Behind Around Gym

I joined a gym, a very nice gym with lots of amenities that caters to seniors, so it is fun to go there. Actually walking, working out, or classes are almost fun.

I am hoping to have a miracle of toned flab and hard muscles and strength and endurance in a few weeks. I saw a woman my age and she looked like a teenager and I asked how long did it take and she said she had been doing yoga for 40 years. I bet I it will take me months instead of weeks to see a noticeable improvement. However long it takes, I feel so much better already, mentally and physically.I expect to continue. I just love the fact that I am finally on the right track. By the way the walking track is indoors and rubberized. There are many nice people there also. What more could I ask?

I hope I stay motivated and I tell my story, because no one can feel good without being fairly active. I am feeling so much better, I don’t think I will want to stop. I also want to encourage any and all to get some exercise even if it is taking a few more steps each day; just do something more than you are doing.

I may really get into this, learn yoga and teach or get into fitness in a serious way. I may prepare for a 5 mile charity walk or do a marathon. Who knows how serious I will get, but whatever I do, don’t let me get less serious.

  1. I started going to the gym every day about a year ago Rose…Havnt seen any noticeable improvement yet,but the deterioration seems to have stopped, and I feel good about myself.
Keep it up Rose…Good on you 🙂

  2. For all the years of non-activity..double it before you see results, unless you change your diet. Just my 2 cents worth. LOL Good luck. Agree with cappy..you will notice a mental change before a physical one..and sometimes.. that just darn good enough!

    1. lo, ouch, ouch; in that case I would give up on looking better if it takes twice as long as I have been active. Does getting out of bed for meals count? LOL
I am working on diet and monitoring everything of a fitness app. I think it is against the rules to mention a website.

  3. Good luck roseinbloom…I do not do gyms, just watch my eating, and go walking… that seems to be right for me…. I think as long as you feel good that is okay.
