  1. Star, I am so sorry. I was burglarized once and I was amazed at how angry is was and how determined to get the thief. This is just horrible. I hope he didn’t take the Christmas goodies in the kitchen or you good spirits of either kind, Try to celebrate anyway.

  2. Dear Star, I feel with you. Hope that trouble maker has only taken things and not vandalized your home.
Sad Christmas and the beginning of the new year for you. Can imagine how you feel but try to celebrate Christmas as good as possible. xxxM

  3. Sorry folks, I hang my head in shame, lol……… time to fess up as it seems no one clicked on to the fact that it was a jokey post……all there in the line…….my advent calendar………all windows open………Oh Well !!! …….I tried……..hehe…..

  4. Well. Glad it wasn’t for real, but lots of burglaries do happen during the Holiday season. but you were sparse on details. Also, when you are burglarized, you may be surprised what actually bugs you the most. It may be the advent calendar or some such. I have been burglarized, and that was not a joke. Be careful everybody. Watch your pockets and purses, and homes anyway.

    1. Hello Rose, to be burgled is a horrific thing to happen, not just about the items that you have had stolen but about the knowledge that someone has been in your home and through your private possessions, and of course the fear that it may happen again, have to keep a tight hold on your bags and wallets, especially at this time of the year…….

  5. I knew what you meant by Advent Calender Starette, even I did not click about you meant , I thought you burglarised in your home, having a home broken into recently it is a little upsetting but you try to get on with those kind of upsets and replace what you lose, but to call someone to rot in hell because of curiosity to open is a little strong, when I was in my family bliss, my children or one of them ate all the Xmas tree chocolates that was festooned around the tree, slowly but surely they went, but children are like magnets to sweets and chocs, as long as they ate them and not slung them. bless their cotton little tykes.
Surprised that cappucina has never heard of Advent , yet know I presumed he knows what Christmas and Easter means.

  6. Hi Star, well I`m glad your advent adventure was a mere figment of your imagination,I like your work hahahahah. At least now without a real burglary you can continue to remain comfortable in your home and my visualisation of you wearing hair curlers, fluffy slippers and wearing a tartan dressing gown wont need to change, hhahahaha.PS what is an advent calender ?
Merry Christamas to you and yours

  7. Hi Sylvester, well an advent calendar can be made of card or could be a felt, velvet stocking, house anything really, whatever, it is usually in the shape of a house painted to look like one, it has little flaps of card for windows, one that you open each day from the first of December until Christmas day, hidden behind each window is usually a sweet or chocolate, on the 25th there is usually a special one…….so that is an advent calendar,……….we hang them for our children so one is opened each day for the countdown to the big day…….now back to don my tatty tartan dressing gown and fluffy slippers, pipe in hand, ahhhh what more could you want at Christmas…….and a very good Christmas to you and yours too………have a good one………x

  8. Haaaaa ty Goldengirl…..maybe the world is not ready for you and I yet……lol…..I suppose it was a bit off the wall……..just thought an English person would click on and others would quickly follow……..have to think of a universal traditional joke next time around……lol

      1. Starlette, it is ok and you have been very understanding. If anyone has been a victim of a burglary, they may find themselves a lot angrier than they can imagine. They may find themselves “wishing the thief would “rot in hell” or something similar.

  9. Your story reminds me of a loveable thief :
” The burglar who repented and returned the jewellery he had stolen three years later.
The burglar who repented and returned the jeweller. The had stolen three years later
In 2007, someone broke into Suzie Fronterotta’s home in Gallup, New Mexico and stole about a dozen pieces of jewellery and $1,000 in cash. Though they weren’t the treasures of Antwerp, they did contain sentimental value. Among them was a 30-year-old pearl necklace and a bracelet given to her by a relative on his deathbed. So imagine her surprise when, three years later, she received a package containing the stolen wares. The sender was anonymous, but it included a note with his apologies. “Please forgive me, I so sorry I steal from you,” the letter read. “So many bad things happen because I steal from you, I so sorry.”
It seems that ever since he robbed the home, he’d been having bad luck, including the death of his wife. So this rare bad guy decided to make amends. Also said he hoped to pay back the $1,000 when he earned enough money. And just to return the courtesy, Fonterotta says she doesn’t want police to charge the guy if they ever find him”
