CRYSTAL BALLS, MODERATORS AND TRANSCRIPTS.

A few days ago I went into chat and happened upon several very new chatters. They were chatting about the site and all the feedback was very positive. They made me feel very welcome, assuming that I was almost as new as they were because I only have four friends. And one of them is me lol. If you know how to friend yourself, please let me know so I can unfriend myself lol. (I had a clean out and cut my list of friends back to the bare bones).

Anyway, back to my ramblings. It was mentioned that we have moderators and that you could save your transcript and email it to Admin if none were present at the time. It was followed by absolute silence. No one knew how. Except me.

So due to the fact that Senior Chatters does not supply the moderators with crystal balls or mirrors to see round corners, I will try to explain how to do this in plain English, for the computer fumblers like I was once. I refuse to use the words ‘computer illiterate’, as you have already found Senior Chatters lol.

In the chat room, there are icons above the box where you type.
On the right hand end there is a book icon, then next to that to the left, is a piece of paper with a pen. If you click on that, the conversations since you entered the room will come up, but only for the room you are in.
Click the right hand side button of your mouse, and in the box that appears look for ‘save as’.
Scroll down and left click on it. You will then get a choice of where to put the piece you are saving. Click on ‘documents on the list and hit ‘save’, which will be down on the bottom right of the box you now see.
It will automatically be saved as ‘senior chatters’.
For those that know how to copy and paste you can also do that.
Place your mouse at the start of what you want to save, and whilst holding down the right hand mouse button, highlight the passages you need from the transcripts.
Then right click your mouse, and go to ‘copy’.
Bring up your email page and again right click to get ‘paste’.
This should bring up what you copied to your email page.
If you wish to email it to Admin/Rob, all you have to do is attach it to an email.
Don’t just send the transcript, explain to him why you are sending it and what you saw that you consider to be wrong.

I hope this helps the ones who asked me how to do it, and I suggest you do what I did long ago. Practice saving them till you get it right lol. Good luck.

  1. It has just been pointed out to me, by someone who shall remain nameless, that when you are copying it is the LEFT mouse button you use to highlight the chosen text lol. SSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH, don’t tell anyone but it was Waylander!!!!!!

    1. Hahahaha mac, if you can’t find what you save, type senior chatters into your search box lol. That will let you know if it is there or try next time lol. You have to hold your tongue just so lol.

    Mac in your bottom left corner of your screen you should have the windows logo inside a circle. If you click it you will get a box just above it that you can type in to find things you have saved, providing you know the name of your file of course. When it appears on the list above where you type, just click on it to take you to the file. And remember, hold that tongue just right lol.
