CHRISTMAS TIME AGAIN.
Christmas time again.
Its getting close to Christmas now
the days are getting hot.
In Australia now we swelter
as the others go for shelter.
The mothers all are shopping
the kids are acting good.
Because that dear old Santa guy,
is hanging round again.
The Fathers they are hiding
for their out of shopping cheer
To be dragged around that centre now
is their greatest fear.
Everyone is rushing about
to get the shopping done.
The time is getting closer now,
just four more days to go.
They are shopping,cleaning ,washing,
so the house can really shine.
For the thing about this Christmas is,
it always comes on time.
They are expecting snow in England
and hope it comes on time.
The weather here in Australia
will most certainly be fine.
Their cooking all the turkeys now,
the puddings on the shelf.
So here in good old Aussie land,
it’s lobster,crabs and prawns.
We sit here by the fire now,
and drink our Christmas beer.
But here we go for something cool,
the beach will do just fine.
That feeling we did eat too much,
is there for all to see.
The gifts have all been opened now,
and sit right over there.
Some were just the things we wanted
others best forgotten
But doesn’t matter what it was,
the thought was all that mattered.
The children they are tucked in bed,
with smiles on their faces.
We sit here feeling tired now,
and wonder why we do it?
All the time and effort spent
for this glorious Christmas day.
Will all be done again next year,
when it’s Christmas time again.
