Choosing the Path Towards Peace

In part, Buddha said, ” Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back and choose the path that leads to wisdom.”

Things work out as they are supposed to and often will happen no matter what we interject into the mix. However, it is up to us to have more courage, and faith in our own self and to really believe in our abilities.

May we all find that path no matter what twists and turns we encounter along the way.

  1. The title and the context are different.
Since this is an Eastern idea, it is different from our western notions. I like Eastern thoughts. I need to choose the path that leads to wisdom.

    1. Hi Rose may I show you the path that leads to wisdom?

What do you think of books cos they offer you a wide range of wisdom. I’ve tried it myself after I turned my back on tv and I can tell you; it works.

      1. I have read a lot of books. Which book or Books do you recommend? Hopefully there is an English version. I think Confucious said, ” It is easier to read a thousand proverbs than it is to practice one”. I am really about the wisdom that I can live. Love and kindness is at the top of my wisdom list. The golden rule is worth more than many books.

        1. Well Rose I’m highly intereted in biographies of historical figures, those who have influenced the world in positive as well as in a negative way.
I find books about designers, their creativity and their life very, very interesting.
I’m also very keen on Russian crimes and the book of today I’m trying to digest is called the Churchill Factor written by Mr. Boris Johnson, Lord Mayor of London. Mr. Johnson is besides of his authorical skills also an excellent historian.
If one want’s to know what was going on in Europe during the time of WW2, how GB managed to survived and needs facts how a country on its own faced the challenge of Nazi Germany, then this book is a must read. By the way, the English language which the book is written in means a challenge of its own. Absolutely brilliant in every point of view.

          1. Michael. I have loved biographies since I was a child. I have read many. I have read bios of creative people also. Books are biased, so we have to read different points of view on most any subject, I also read books of poets and philosophers. I don’t have enough wisdom and it has to be practiced to be learned. I admire your ability to read and write a second language. I read a lot on the computer now. Thanks for your help.

          2. Hi Rose, sorry I forgot to mention book titel which my find your interest;

  2. Wise words , Heartwriter…..
As a Taoist, i welcome the thoughts of self instruction , enlightenment, and a belief that the universe and nature decides all that is neccesary for us to learn as we travel through life’s journey , the good with the bad, which helps us to grow, walking alongside others shoes ,we can’t walk in them becasue they don’t belong to us however, we can walk beside those in troublesome times…
Taoism is not a religeon by theway it is a belief system, similar to that of Bhudissm . using philosophy and realism coupled with understanding and thoughts of others before self …..which helps us to grow within ourselves …A simple explanation for those that havn’t hear of Taoism …..

  3. Hi HeartWriter, attaining wisdom within the order of a universe in chaos carries an obligation in that one must be committed to be a teacher to oneself and to others around by practicing wisdom as an example to others yet to learn.

    1. sylvester. I agree. Wisdom is hard and we need to learn and teach. That is a big reason I blog. I want us to learn together and not enough people share their wisdom. I share what I think, and it may not be all that impressive, but I wish other people would blog and comment more.

      1. I think any reason to blog (in a positive way) is good. What might not seem impressive to you, might be just what someone else needs to hear, exactly when they need to hear it. It could light that spark that leads them in the right direction!

    1. Charles. Wisdom is the opposite of foolish, but what is foolish? Wisdom is being able to live with peace and serenity and to be in harmony with your world and people. Wisdom is making the best of what one has. What do you think?
This is what I try to do.

      1. Wisdom is what we obtain from life’s experinces. While the experinces are but lessons, the wisdom derives from what we do with these experinces. To be at peace and experience serenity and harmony with the world/people around us, one must first find peace and serenity as well as harmony within oneself.
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world”
        Mahatma Gandha

Whilst this may at first appear to sway from the subject, the fact is all that we are,as well as all we strive to become;is derived from within.
