Cats – strange Creatures

From my name you might imagine that I have at least one cat but unfortunately that is not the case. My husband is allergic to cat hair so I cant have any in the house. I do have visits for neighbours cats and at present 5 visit me when sat in the garden. They all have their own personality ranging from stupid to brave. The latest story was of Casper who is the bravest most muscled and grumpy of all my visiting cats. As I walked into the garden last week I noticed a ginger presence at the top of the garden. Thinking it was just another cat I walked towards it and it jumped up. Not another cat but a fox. He was not like the scraggy foxes I have seen in the city but this urban fox looked quite young but very well kept. I wasn’t sure quite what to do when all of a sudden a hissing furball flew up the garden, This was Casper claiming his territory.  A few feet from the fox he stopped, possibly realising quite what he was dealing with. Casper and the fox stared each other down for a few seconds then the fox from a standing start leapt clean over my 6 foot garden fence. Casper then walked towards me for his usual treat and cuddle, I am sure there was a little swagger as he did so. In his mind it was Casper saves the day.

  1. I think it basically comes down to combat skills when considering fox v cat fights. The fox is basically a dog so he has teeth. The cat also has teeth, but in addition it has four feet tipped with razor sharp claws.
I have found that most foxes will not argue with a cat claiming it’s territory, but will trot off to find a less dangerous place to scavenge.
