i know i dont usually write in here but as a mere man i would like to give my point of view if i am allowed? as regards this private chat to anyone i prefer it just to friends on my list. as regards to anyone been able to private message me that is fine by me. it is just the private chat i wish to keep to friends. that is all for now!

I had someone come in and begin pm’ing me who I didn’t know…in a totally different language I might add. I welcomed him and he instantly wanted to know if I had msn to chat with him… No monitor to save me in that situation.
I would much rather have an option to have or not to have. Guess Rob can’t make it both ways.
What would happen if you use the option on the private chat section that says block this user…and you block everybody but your friends?

I knew what I was doing,he came into me via private chat, being nosey, I replied, he invited me into video chat, still nosey I accepted, the video link wasnt from here it was in bangladesh,I didnt stay, IT JUST goes to show what this private chat is about , had I been private he would not be able to access me,so make sure you really want anyone to access you when you dont know who they are ,so be aware
I only private chat with people on my friends list thats why i have voted to just friends P/C only managed the video link once it dont seem to work for me even though i do have flash and the other friend had flash also ……………..
i tried the private chat on cam with my hubby (he’s a member here also..i figured he was safe..lol)..but no matter what we did we could only see ourselves..no fun there..lol
jcb, Patricia, and sassy, i am with you on this…I also would prefer to keep private chat to ‘friends’ only, and as for PM’s it don’t matter to me…as sometimes someone who isnt your friend but would like to be,then PM’s you to ask first before they send you a request? then you have the option to nicely refuse or willingly accept and say, yes go ahead. that is how it is on a ‘very popular’ site, and I and thousands more find it works very well…It WAS working very well here too, till now…3 times the other night i got unwanted private chats and twice tonight…nope I prefer it how it was thank you…:) 🙂 🙂

If i may be permitted to add my comments to this subject …I would have to say keep it as it is at the moment , With keeping it as just friends it also prevents any possible trouble , bullying and harasment …so for those reasons i say keep it friends only
i agree with you eddy friends only as in our life outside of here we choose our friends personally
