Being Social

The received wisdom is that being social has many advantages. Some of us ( introverts?) don’t recharge our batteries by being social if that means being in a group. I’m not antisocial but being in a group for any length of time is not for me. I’m guessing that I am not alone in this and would welcome contacts from people who feel like I do. I do enjoy a good conversation preferably one on one. I dont have anything particularly earth shattering to say. Just ordinary things. I dont collect friends so I am not interested in having hundreds of followers as we have to call them these days but if anything I’ve said resonates with you please contact me. 😀

  1. Hello there @Yarnlady 😊 I do enjoy the interaction in SC but I no longer have any real face-to-face friends. I find this a soberingtgought but that’s just the way things have gone. The closet one I had passed on some years back and I still mourn her. The others have just drifted away over time. I think this is why I like SC so much. I’ve made some really good pals here and I’d not be without them. Here’s hoping you may do the same.

  2. Hi there @Yarnlady yes I definitely relate. I dont do well in large social settings. Or even chat rooms with several people. I enjoy ‘light hearted banter’ on the site in groups. On the street or in shops with friendly people. But I prefer more indepth sharing, getting to know people one to one. I am blessed with a few close friends in real life, sadly all long distance. But I also enjoy the anonymity of chatting in private messages pm with a few good friends Ive made here in senior chatters. I’ve also talked to some really interesting people who have passed through the site. I love talking to people willing to risk sharing a little bit of their real life. Its a seniors chatting site, we have so much in common and so much to learn from each other.

          1. Hi there, older bloke from UK. Love art, good music, good food, smiles, kindness, the great outdoors, time with friends andmore. Jo

  3. I like this. I’m new to this world. Well I chatted many moons ago in the days of chatrooms in the early noughties so I’m struggling to navigate here.
I do like to ‘shoot the breeze’ if that sounds American I’m not one, I’m British but spend most of my time in sunny Turkey….I thrive in better weather!
