Just a followup from my blog 18th Nov where I was so disappointed to not have the official authority to tend to my parents affairs.
I re attended VCAT today with no expectations and quite prepared to walk away with a forfeited application for Administrator/Guardianship,I was pleasantly surprised that the attending Member wanted to listen to what I had to say and my refusal to bring along my parents was not a point of contention.Perhaps they read my toned down letter and realised this bloke is not trying to pull the wool over their eyes.Anyway,just wanted to let you all know as a lot of you were invaluable support to me in this endeavour that I was successful in getting orders appointing me as Administrator/Guardian for my parents.
More importantly I think to anyone here is that if you`re in the right to not let some other person tell you otherwise,stick to your convictions and persue them.All to often one hears of an injustice and its accepted as final.Like all of us here we have different interpretations and nobody is flawless on any given subject even though a set criteria of rules should apply, somewhere amongst all of that is common sense and rationale ,sadly one has to seek it.
Thanks for your support when I was in the depths of despair regarding this matter.

Sylvester, you are right not to give up or get discouraged and you prevailed, but when life gets difficult, it makes it better if the system works with you and not against you.

Good on you Sylvester for taking on the petty beaurocrats who have nothing else to do but try to justify thier own existance.
It was worth it in the end Capps,I will say this particular beaurocrat was more in touch though and in such a position I admire that.

Sylvester so pleased you have it all sorted now, it was a lon ghard road but you have survived all the paperwork and hearings etc: and come out he other side a victor.
So pleased you stuck to your guns and continued, you may finally now sort eve ryone’s future and the best for all.
You have done an amazing job caring for your elderly and ill parents and as I do for all carers ,I applaud you for your wonderful efforts
