Soliloquy
Inspired by one of the recent emails about how one might be feeling invisible as you get older. As is often the case, a simple message like that sparked off some words in my head, and this was the result.
Note: I have had to post it as a screen capture from Notepad as the formatting tool in this blog engine is appalling and completely messes up how I want it to appear.

Interesting to read. I didn’t really understand it as much as I should have, but that’s only a reflection on me.
It was your reference to ‘feeling invisible as we age’ that allowed me to tune in. Its very emotive.
Enjoyed your poem. I understand the feelings of feeling “invisible” as technology and other things have led to the “older generation” perhaps not adapting and not being heard.
I recently experienced this first hand. while in the Neuro ICU unit with my only son age 46 in a coma his partner of 9 years and her friend were talking and not once during their conversation did they look at me or include me in their conversation. I feel a deep connection with your beautiful but sad artistic creation.
