Spoiled Brats
The power was off the other day, and now I’m fully “powered”. That reminded me about how much we are “spoiled brats”. It’s not enough to hear music on the radio, but it has to be just right for our own peculiar tastes. Mine is pop music from the 1960s. And if I want something @ 3:17 AM, I can get in my car and drive the dreaded 15 minute trip to an all-night store. Horrors!!!! Oh, the agony!!
About 3-4 generations ago, people thought it was splendid to have 1 candle. When you think of the advancements, we are doing pretty good for most of us.

This is so true.
Yes it’s good to realise the great things we have, and there are plenty of them. It’s all too easy to take them for granted but our generation is far less likely to do this than younger people. I think I honestly do appreciate things like that every day now.
Yes covid did it for me. I was in the supermarket having a melt down about not being able to get ‘long grain rice’. When I had that light bulb moment, rice is rice, food is food. When did all this choice become a necessity. People were dying. Real wake up call. But I still do it frequently and have to try to remember to get real !
