Shades of loneliness
It’s time to say goodbye..
To your bed, your chair and your cat.
To the table you sit at every morning
Your tape recorder , your special clock
you won’t need them, leave them behind.
It’s time to say goodbye.
You are going to a new place
Everything will be provided for you.It will be fine.
No, don’t pack anything, leave everything behind.
Is time to say goodbye..
To your garden, your neighbours and the sun.
Choose five books of the hundreds in your collection
There won’t be room for more than that.
Be brave, don’t cry, let me wipe off the tears from your eyes.
Come on dad! Is not that we are ripping you apart.
It’s time to say goodbye..
To your home, your memories and years of happiness and love.
You will never be alone again, there’ll be others there for a chat
Others just like you, wandering around trying to feel at home
In a stranger’s kind of land.
The time has come, let go of my hand.
It’s time to say goodbye..

Oh my, that is just so sad. So emotive. I wonder about the back story but I guess Im meant to. Great writing. Thank you 🙏
This piece of writing is based on a dear friend’s story, but it could easily apply to any of us. Heart breaking to be removed from everything you ever loved.
I can only say I am incredibly thankful that IF circumstances eventually happen that I need ‘care’ I am financially able to employ somebody to live in.
I sit here weeping…gosh you are most certainly a writer!
Than you.
