How we Feel

Buddha Sayings

‘We must train our minds to understand that not everything someone says or does is the truth. We have the ability to believe or to not believe what is being reflected upon us from those around us.

When we come into contact with a mean-spirited person, we must feel compassion for them because those who are reflecting pain onto others are struggling within. We must also keep ourselves safe by seeing and practicing the skill of not believing everything someone says to us. By not taking things personally, we can develop a deep love for ourselves through knowing that it is our thoughts and perceptions of ourselves that create endless possibilities or the opposite, boundaries due to our lack of confidence.

We can create our own journeys of pain or pleasure when we no longer leave others in charge of how we feel.’

  1. Life’s too short to be always sad and disappointed…forget the past, learn from it… then, move on! Always try to be happy….we should always be in charge of own feelings and emotions….we should let go…and dance with the wind! precyxoxo

  2. Buddha was a wise man. Struggling within to control our fragile belief in our own worth is hard. That inner battle to stay positive in our often negative world is so often a daily battle. X

  3. Easier said than done, others play a part in our feelings and emotions…..to be totaly in charge of them we would have to isolate ourselves from other’s…………not very practical………. life isnt all about sadness and disappointement, but it is a part of it, you have to have the rain to appreciate the sun, you have to have to have the bad times to appreciate the good times…….to let go and dance with the wind sounds like a wonderful concept Precyxoxo….dont think its something i will ever achieve……..i care too much about othere’s….there hurt becomes mine…….but hey, i’m not complainig…..my life is as good as the next, and a lot better than some peoples. x

  4. Star I love the way you look at issues. No man is an island. We live in an interdependent world .The hurting need a shoulder to lean on in times like that. The best we can do is to ensure that at indidual level we don’t contribute to the number of people hurting but avail ourselves to cheer up those that are hurting.

  5. In my opinion it’s all talking about feelings rather than feeling. The best way to handle situations that arise is to just feel what you feel and move on to the next thing without having to overanalyze yourself… There’s too much thinking and not enough doing.
