One Child or not……

Hello Peeps……still on the family theme…….I have one son one daughter and one grandson……..times many I hear couples say they want to have more children for company for the one they have……..I cannot quite get my head around this……to me that doesn’t make sense, having come from a family of six, five girls one boy we all had our own individual friends and wouldn’t have wanted our siblings following us around, at one time my daughter was looking to have another child but is now glad she didn’t,my grandson has never been short of friends or company, I feel that because more time was  spent with him being a only child  chatting, showing him what the world has to offer he was given the confidence to go on to be a man with his own ideas and opinions, and can voice them in a correct and respectful manner, confidence  is a great thing to posses……..very often in larger families the children do not get the input they maybe should have and end up looking after the younger ones in the family…… in later life my closest siblings were my step brother and sister both now sadly  gone……another sister died and the two remaining I have very little contact with and we have nothing in common ……even though we were all brought up in the same manner and environment the difference in characters is vast…….so I would say to anyone thinking a large family will be forever a close loving family think again….. its not always so…………best off getting a pet….

  1. Well, Star, I already told you that I was from a large Family of 5 boys, 2 girls…the four of us older one’ always were on the same wave length,…I think now that smaller families are better….although I have had two girls and two boys myself…I would now think twice about having more babies,Thank you very thought provoking.

  2. Good one Star. I said in previous blog my oldest sister and I were far apart in ages. She has a daughter a year older than me. I didnt know her, so four of my siblings were left home and married , I cant remember them being at home, just myself and one brother I can only remember being at home at the same time. So having 6 of us was no company lol

  3. A lot more company for you I would say…….. a dog will always be a mans/ womens best friend……who else meets you at the door with their tail wagging and slobbering………well that could be a man too I suppose…..hee hee….
