Womens Estrogen…..Versus….. Mens Testroterone……..
Ok lets get the hormone thing out of the way, men have loads more Testosterone than women, but we do have a very minute amount……..men also have a small amount of Estragon, women the largest amount……..so the question is…….”Are men primed to mate with every women who makes herself available “….. i am not suggesting they do of course, but this was a matter of fact statement i read recently written by a man…. that’s just the way men are……..just the way we are made…….so how hard is it for a man not to succumb if the opportunity arises……….it would appear women do not find this a problem……we are not programmed that way ……….hope some men will make comments on this post, they can be funny of course, but I would also like some honesty……..how much self control does it take to refuse the tasty dish on a plate as it were…………Testosterone makes the man manly……….Estragon the women feminine……….. so it must be the high testosterone content in the mans body that is responsible for their uncontrollable sex urges …….hehe…….

Starlette, I understand hat you are saying, but I doubt if one man will tell us anything. I admire men for their self control, those that have it. From what I have figured, men are really into the sex thing and most of the time. Naturally as they age, they calm down a lot’ when the function is gone, the desire is still there. Men are very different than we women. They really are a roiled up lot.

Yes Rose, think way back. From the first way………………55years…………..till the last and you won’t believe it, no case of spontaneous combustion. I exploded a few times and I have the to blame the girls for it. Mostly because they turned up to late to the date we had. And you know what, waiting is the best fire extinguisher for me.

Starlette, Your blog raises two issues. One is estrogen and testosterone and what that is all about and then there is the monogamous thing or lack of it. Estrogen does many things for a woman and It is only prescribed to ward off hot flashes. Doctors have a different way of treating women and creating sexual desire is not a medical issue here in the USA. It is not fair. Men get viagra and women get nothing, but women can get estrogen if they demand it for hot flashes. Star, most of us are not comfortable discussing this subject, but I like to get some information out.

Michael. No. No. No way. It is not, Michael. Women have performance issues and libido issues also and having a man on viagra is the last thing that makes their nights any better. Estrogen does help and it can be gotten if a woman insists. Most women don’t know to ask or that it would help.

Hello Michael, Testosterone is available over here in various forms, Gel, Injections etc………not an over the counter medicine though, has to be prescribed by your doctor………it has many benefits for men and women, but also side effects…….it is given for many reasons, men who have a lower level of Testosterone than they should have, various medical conditions where the body isn’t developing naturally, and I would think for transsexuals………how do I know all this, Mr Google helped me out of course, loads of reading on it……….but still no answer to my original question blub blub…….xxx
And this is why women are more sexual beings as they get older while some men have failures, because womens testosterone levels become higher as their female hormones get lower after usually 45 to 50 or sometimes later , so here’s to woman of a certain age who can still find it enjoyable at an age when males are usually putting away the cube , as I have heard it said …. to put it plainly ……correct me if I am wrong guys >>> lol

Historically, and by that I mean back to the beginning of animals on this planet, strong males have had the urge programmed into them to spread their seed as far and wide as they can, while females are (to a lesser extent granted) programmed to accept the advances of these males.
OK that’s the science out of the way, now to the second part of the original post by Star.
While males are more known for their “urges” these are not confined to the male of the species. If they were then every divorce for infidelity would be brought by women and they are not.
So let’s get this into some kind of perspective. Yes males have “urges” but so do females. As to which controls them better? Well I think that’s about even.

They will offer to help, and seem quite sincere,

Starlette, I like your poem, and you speak the truth and should not apologize for it. Truth about the real nature of men and women is a key to happiness between them. We are old enough to speak truthfully and sincerely on this subject, but most of us are not that old yet.
I know men who took female hormones and some who were castrated in treatment of cancer. Their interest in sex completely left them and they were much less docile.I know one who has implanted seeds for prostate cancer and he had took care of 3 of his grandchildren while their parents worked. He was also a full time caregiver for two other people. He is still macho in many ways. He is not a sissy, but he has an increased nurturing capacity. If I were a man, I would probably not do any of these treatments. The one lost most of his body hair on female hormones. That is minor, but shows a generalized impact. Testosterone and estrogen, evidently, play a huge role in our being male or female. The doctors know all about it and they do gender reassignment and use hormones to do most of this except for the surgical parts.
I had a stage one breast cancer and was urged to do chemotherapy and a drug to neutralize estrogen. This was over 20 years ago and I refused those two treatments. I am glad that I did.
People our age need to know more about medical issues, and The doctors will not explain much to you. They are part of the medical business.
I still take hormone replacement because I have never been willing to tolerate hot flashes and I have read many benefits from their use. I wish I could know the absolute facts about them, but most sources are biased.
If we are living 20 to 40 years beyond menopause, what are we supposed to do? Smiling and enjoying old age is pretty hard to do without good pharmaceuticals.
On a lighter note, alcohol just does not agree with me, but we just elected a governor who is for legalizing medical marijauna. Now I have quite a few complaints that could be remedied by that, especially my sense of humor and seriously the arthritis issues.

Rose your comments on hormones raise so many issues, well if the guy who was given it for cancer is still alive then that was a good move, so what if he has become more nurturing, no bad thing that………the guy who has lost body hair, again no issue, lots of men don’t have lots of body hair anyway………regarding the menopause and the hormones, a few years ago when it was linked to a increased cancer risk our doctors stopped prescribing it willy nilly, so lots had to come off it and go through the menopausal symptoms, like it or lump it………myself I sailed through it without one symptom, no hot flushes or night sweats, guess I was one of the lucky ones……regarding the whacky Baccy…….well lots smoke it now to ease the pain of Arthritis, others for whatever reason, to feel relaxed i think……. apparently it can lead to Schizophrenia and kills off some off the brain cells…….but I can see it becoming legalised, as supposedly its a lot less harmful than cigarettes……who knows…….if one is in enough pain then you would try anything, and lets face it, the stronger the medicines that are prescribed, the more horrific the side effects…..

Viagra has no health benefit and can cause death and blindness instantly and 4 hour erections and wasted money on trips to the emergency rooms and it is still sold to millions, Estrogen is probably the safest medication on the market and has many benefits. The standard for viagra and for estrogen is vastly different. Estrogen is also very cheap by comparison. I don’t think viagra is sold to women here.
Well i don’t know so much about Estragon and how it could help men with erectile dysfunction………I just know that Viagra does the job, and if a man has to shuffle around and conceal the result for 4 hours then that’s just tough…ha ha….

I didn’t see and understand it by the medical aspect that plays
the important fact to some members here.
I’m not in the hunt any longer so I can only talk about those times
that have gone by.
Yes you are right, romance was the initial key but also the fact
dreaming of something unknown, different life we didn’t know.
So bringing everything together than it worked like a clockwork
and no much words were needed, just candlelight, something to
drink and eat and of course romantic music.
Cos I’ve lived that kind of life I don’t understand the young generation
of our days and it feels like our parents didn’t understand our time.

Hello Michael, our expectations were a lost less in times past, in the main all the girls wanted was a faithful husband, home and children, it was taken that the men would be the breadwinner and provider, the women took care of the shopping and the household chores, the men the garden and the blokey type jobs, were those days better, I don’t know, all I know now is the world is a great big place, and wonderful new opportunities have opened up for the young, opportunities that were not available to most of us………..so I would say go out and live your life, do and see all you can while you are fit and able, the domesticated stuff can come later……….but would be nice to see some of the morals and behaviour return from yesteryear…..xxx
There is a lot of dodging the issue here. I respect that. Romance and music is a means to an end for men. Wining and dining is good to but it is good for us all to know something closer to the truth.

I’d say it may depend on the blood alcohol level. I don’t drink much and the very few times I went to night clubs I stayed sober. I’ve seen some entertaining scenes out in the parking lots, fighting, screaming, and begging! It does remind me of the song by Mickey Gilley “Don’t The Girls All Get Prettier At Closing Time”.
But the statements/questions must have some truth in it. How else can a person explain prostitutes, call girls, groupies? There has to be a natural tendency right?

David, You address the question. I am not sure I understand it, but self-control must be difficult and with alcohol, it must be almost impossible. I am glad that the men I encountered along the way were not without self-control. I would be much more wary if I were 18 again. We all need to warn our young people.

How does it become a subject for discussion within a long-term relationship?
Why do many men who are in long-term, non-active relationships not stray?
Also, why are some ladies, long past menopause still very sexually active in and outside long-term relationships.

Hi dick pleased to meet you, some question you are asking there, and I maybe able to throw some light on some, but only from my own knowledge of people that have.. err strayed……..very often from what I hear, the women hasn’t really lost interest in lovemaking, but just become bored with her partner, the renewed vigour and passion is revived when a new man is on the scene, the menopause never created me any problems but I cannot speak for all, I know for a fact women make excuses to avoid sex, and when they are run ragged with the kids, household chores etc that is understandable…….but in later years this should ease………..so what about the male ” menopause ” as it were……..well seems some men try to revert back to their youth, ear piercings, low type sporty type cars, that they struggle to get in and out off, trendy gear, they also go out on the hunt for a new model, and if they have a bit of cash they may find a younger sleeker one too……….why do some men not stray, well maybe they are not that bothered, haven’t had the opportunity, or out of respect for their wives and the vows they took, same reason as women who do not stray I suppose…….you have to go that extra mile if you have a bit on the side, not worth the effort to some……….how does it become a subject for discussion……………..I always find myself it can be very hard to discuss personal issues with someone close, I think its because we are very aware of not wanting to be seen to be criticising them in any way, and for fear of causing upset…….but if the lack of interest on either side is creating problems then it has to be sorted, just have to take the bull by the horns and approach your spouse/partner……….. could start by asking if they are worried about anything, and if there is anything you can do, because you have noticed that they seem more distant from you, and you miss the closeness you once shared………can but try………but I’m afraid if its not open for discussion then that is one of the reasons both men and women alike stray………..If you don’t use it……you lose it……he he…..
