Who reads blogs now?

I have noticed lately that a lot of people go to the trouble of writing blogs, very good ones as well.
I also notice that very few comment on them,so does that mean people aren’t reading blogs now.
Does it mean people rather not have them ,or want different kind of blogs?
Just my mind wondering things, Mac xxxx

  1. I love all the blogs mac, read all however do not always comment. Lots of posts in groups with no comments too. Maybe a lot of members just come in to go to the chat rooms. It does take a bit of time to read everything and comment. I do appreciate our bloggers and hope they continue. xxx

    1. I read ALL blogs. No I don’t always comment. I only comment on those that I have a comment to make on, but I strongly suspect that the blogs are read by far more than the comments made on them would indicate.

If I have something to say then Blogs is the place that I say it. I think it is the same with others.

  2. I always read the blogs in the morning Macca, while I,m noshin me oats and drinkin me tea….Time that,s done I gotta scrub me fangs and go to work.
Well……Thats my excuse for not commenting very often…lol.

  3. I think it would be nice if there was a ‘like’ feature attached to the blogs like there is with the updates and group postings. One could at least acknowledge the post and the author even if one didn’t care to leave a comment. Just a thought . . .

    1. Yup, good idea, As the Blog are public I’ve now added the ‘Like’ functionality to all Blog post. The idea… If you like a Blog Post then you can ‘Like’ it across the popular social networks. Which in turn should encourage more readership and people joining SC. Win WIn 🙂

    1. joe of course there are loads of good blogs … try some of mine lololo or go to peoples profiles see posts try them……no just scroll through i am sure you can find some …mac xxx

    2. I sort of feel the same way, Joe. I go to read blogs thinking some one has written something of interest, but mostly the things I see are copies of other peoples works, ideas, poetry etc, and very few original pieces. Now, I’m not against reading any of that, but I would like it separated from blogs. I would love to read blogs written by our members. I’d like to know what’s on their minds.

      1. i’ve always thought blogs were kind of like a diary..people writing about themselves..but that idea was shot down awhile ago..so i do copy and paste writings i find interesting..if you can’t beat ’em join them..lol

  4. Ok i have to admit I am one of the guilty ones that does not always comment, but i do read them all every morning when i log on and i do appreciate all of you that takes the time to write something….please dont stop blogging…there are some of us that can write and some of us that read….i pledge to do better….and i also agree about having a like button…sounds like a great idea…

  5. I read most blogs when I log on which is often , I love reading them , I think it would be almost impossible to comment on everything that’s posted here ,it would become kind of robotic and lose its value I think .
I comment on postings either here or in groups if I think that my comment would make a contribution to the blogger or other readers . Or if the blog has touched or impacted me in some way …

  6. I really like the idea of being able to ‘like’ a blog, that way the writer does know that people are reading their efforts and most people seem to put a lot of time and effort into what they write..a nice way to give a simple acknowledgement .

  7. I always read all the blogs…and if I am off line for a few days, because I am away from home, I catch up. No I dont always comment, though sometimes I do. I think a ‘like’ option, or even a ‘read’ option who be a great idea, because lets face it, its not always possible to actually like what you are reading, But thank you all you bloggers, I would miss your writings very much if they were not here xxxxxxxxx

  8. I agree with the suggestions offered here. I, as a blogger, don’t always know if my efforts are of any value or not. It gets frustrating at times. But I have to admit that I don’t always comment either. Part of my reason is my inability to maintain a network connection. A “like” button would help me greatly.

    Love, Jackie xxxx

    1. Your efforts are of value Jackie as are every blogger,I wrote this post to see if blogs are read and I am very pleased to see people read and want them …..so keep on blogging bloggers Xxxxx mac

  9. I read them and do comment on most of em …always have cos i feel you should ..but yes i think a ‘like’ button or something would be good…cos sometimes you dont always have time to do a comment…:)
