Raijins Breath – A Tale in two paragraphs

I have just posted this in Writers Group but if they have to suffer so do you.

RAIJIN’S BREATH
They strolled through the pebble garden, the girl in traditional dress, the boy dapper in his uniform. They had only known each other for a week and, to the girl, everything was bright and sparkly like sunlight on a lake. She suggested that they hurry as her mother was expecting them for tea. The boy turned to her. As gently as he could he told her that their relationship was a mistake and that he was going away, never to return. The girl stared at him aghast. He turned away quickly so that he could not see her tears.
Binding the white scarf around his head the boy secretly wished that he could take back his words and, after all, return to his new found love, but it was November 1944 and the Homeland was under threat. For pilots of the Emperor’s “Divine Wind” squadrons returning was not an option.
