Dogs are weird creatures. Drive along at 40 mph and they insist in sticking their heads out of the window into into the slipstream, but when they are laid out on the couch and you blow gently into their faces they get SO damned angry!

If you walk into a forest at night and sit by a tree at first you will hear nothing, but after a while you will hear the night creatures begin to go about their business again.
This is their place and as long as you stay still and quiet they will tolerate the human among them.
A great pity humans cannot master the art of tolerance too.
