Here is a reconstruction of Shakespeare’ s Globe Theatre. The original was destroyed by fire in 1613. The theatre was rebuilt in 1997 near the site of the original. we visited in 2004.

I forgot to mention that it stands near London Bridge and the Tower of London.

Here is Alexander Platz station Berlin. Although very much damaged in WW2, Berlin is a great place to visit and shop. We meant to get to the Pergamon museum but didn’t manage it. I must go back.

This is tower bridge London. We stayed near here when when we came to see the Tutenkamun exhibition in November 2019. Tower bridge is so named because it is beside the Tower of London (a castle built in the 11th century).

This is the Palace of Knossos a Bronze Age archaeological site which is on the island of Crete at the edge of modern Heraklion. It was amazing to see it after I learned about it at school many years ago.

The ruins with the columns are of the library at Ephesus. A magnificent buiding. Above the site stands a castle near to where St John wrote his gospel.

The first photo we took at Saklient Gorge in Dalaman Turkey in September 2019. In the cafe, the food was served in tree houses which you climbed into on a ladder. It was so peaceful relaxing in there amonst the trees. The boat trips are good value for money

This is the skyline of Toronto and the ferry which we took to the island in 2012. It was a perfect day.

It is a good view of Toronto from the island. You can see the iconic skydome and space needle towering above the city. We went there in 2012.

This is a street on the island of Mykonos where I went in May of 2019. We stayed just outside the town which was quiet. I love the way they paint the pavements white as well as the houses to keep them cool.
