Ive been busy for a couple of weeks and have not been on here, and this morning i come back to 1710 notifications! Bear with me – it might take me a while to catch up 😄

This is the fiendish plan of the site. If you know any absence will be met with innumerable notifications upon your return you will be loathe to be away for any lengthy period. 😈

Absolutely blown away by this. Yes its a bit maudlin but that suits my mood (and its a change from my usual 60s music).
-
I listened to it on YouTube, it wanted me to download Spotify and I didn’t want to do that. I like the song.

Left handed, thank you for sharing.

Don’t ever sit up until 2am, slightly drunk, playing the music of your youth.
Don’t do it. Just don’t.

I was sorting through some old photos when I found this one – and I couldn’t resist sharing it with the group.
This is me – 15th May 1974. Long hair (wish I had some of that today), pipe (a nod to Harold Wilson, a politician at the time), thin nylon turtleneck sweater (my skin crawls just remembering it), and check trousers (in fashion terms,…

Morning all. Wild, wet and windy here in South Wales this morning. We’re off to visit family who live just outside Hereford (about 75 minutes drive away). Original plan was to have a bbq later in the day but the weather might prevent that. Interesting logistical exercise as my wife will need her electric wheelchair, the manual wheelchair and her…

LH, Hope you have a nice visit with family today and safe driving to Hereford . It is a rainy morning here in my area of Baltimore County, MD. Hope your weather improves and have a nice Sunday visit . ☔

Lefthanded, It is good to see you here in Shout. By wild weather, you probably mean windy. I hope your journey goes well and you enjoy your day.

We’re going to a funeral today (no tears – it is my wife’s uncle, he was 92 and had led a VERY interesting life). But its the first funeral I’ve been to in many years where traditional dark clothing has been requested.
Horror of horrors! I’ll have to wear a suit!
I honestly cannot remember the last time I wore a suit and tie – probably at my…

LH, Yes Have you wife take a photo of you in your suit. 🌞

Early start for me this morning. My bladder woke me up just before 6am, and it was so light that I realised I would never get back to sleep – so I decided to get up and do some cooking instead.
I became the family cook by default. As my wife’s condition deteriorated, she became unable to stand long enough to prepare a meal. For a while she had a…

We have a lot in common as I also have to run the home, organise shopping and cook. I started to cook back in the 70s when I worked nights and my wife worked as normal people do in the daytime. Time passed and I became her Carer so cooking expertise broadened to making bread, cakes as well as meals plus now I am a Carer for my second wife so now… Read more

Enjoyed reading LH and Blackdog that you both had to learn to cook. When I got married in 1958 I did not not how to cook as I was an only child and my Mother and my grandfather’s cousin who lived with us did the cooking and I never took an interest in learning . So I did learn and I was never a great cook but today it is just me and I don’t… Read more

We have a cupboard in our dining room where we keep stationery. You know the sort of things – pens, pencils, old credit card bills, etc. Well, this morning I needed to staple something, so I went to the stationery cupboard in search of a stapler.
Rummaging through the cupboard I discovered that I owned not one, not two, not three, not even…

Good morning Toodlepip and I can understand you. I recently moved and packing up, I found it a bit disturbing to discover how many duplications I had. I movered several times and never sorted very well. Sorting was on my TO DO list. Procrastination was on my todo list and I like your joke. Good job with the sorting. I hope to see you again here.

I should begin by apologising for my mood this morning. I’m normally a “glass-half-full” kind of person, but this morning I’m struggling.
Why? Well, the weather isn’t helping. It’s wet. Grey skies all around and persistent heavy rain. The kind of rain that soaks you to the bone and just won’t let up.
And our nest is feeling…

Left handed. All of us times when our mood is low and it is okay. We have too much company then we have too little which is a big problem with a lot of seniors. Soon as children or grandchildren leave, we start missing them again, so I hope your son keeps Wednesday evening dinners and it is okay to call and invite him. The sun will come out, but… Read more

My wife and I are keen geocachers, and Friday is often the day we go out and spend a few hours ‘caching. But today is different – today I need to do maintenance on my own caches, the ones I have put out for other players to find. Geocaches get damaged, it’s a fact of life. Here in the UK, geocaches in rural areas get destroyed by squirrels and…

Yes I realise today is Saturday 😄 Days are all the same when you are retired!

LH , Post a picture of the Geocaches if you can . Hope it stays dry over there today for you as the sun is out here in my area of Baltimore County , MD. and going up to 51 F this afternoon. 🌞
