I have no wish to be strictly vegan, @Lauramarie, and I think vegetarians who allow milk products and eggs are very common, even in India among Hindus (although not among high-status “strictly veg” folks). Unless one is able and willing to eat lentils, peas and beans at nearly every meal every day, “vegan” is not a very healthy option.
