Thought as he dogs are out could have some other animals.
Bit bovine I know, some of Mr Henson’s rare breeds. — not the little lamb of course.2 Comments-
Impressive bovines and a sweet new arrival. Nice post Dick. Thank you.

Beautifully captured subjects Dick, and I am very impressed by the dry stone wall in the first pix. They must have been master craftsmen to create those without a skerrick of mortar or cement!

UK’s Meteorological Office has issued a warning about yellow snow it seems: do we need such a warning?

Beautifully captured, with the light filtering through the wing and tail feathers. One to be proud of!

Believe this is the first photo taken on the then new Sony A330, but again with the Minolta lens.
It isn’t the real Iron Duke, a rather good replica though on a preserved line.View more comments-
Ah! If I remember correctly one of Kingdom Brunel’s 7′ singles of the GWR. When our two boys were very young (they are now 56 & 53) I set up a HO (I think) gauge railway track for them and the very first model engine we bought was the Iron Duke. Serendipity plays a major part in any photo I take: about 10 years ago had a holiday on the Llangollen Canal, still had analogue cameras at that point, including a good Minolta, the lenses for which flattered my limited ability. Certainly worked extremely well in these lovely photos you capture! Great action shots! Thanks for sharing.

Been many a great photograph captured on film, sometimes I get nostalgic about my Pentax SLR which served me well over many years and was still in perfect working order when I transitioned to digital in 2003. Can only echo GG’s comment, fantastic shots!

On the cave theme, and somehow loosely related to the Green Howard’s memorial pics, two of my favourites from same location.
Incidentally, there was a class of LNER locomotives: 2-6-0s from memory, named for regiments, the class being known as Green Howards or, more colloquially, Snappers.

Interesting post Dick… thank you

Anarack alert, I got the wheel arrangement and the regiment wrong: were Gresley Class V4, 2-6-2’s, the second in class was named East Yorks Regt, The Snapper, third was Green Howards (Alexandra, Princess of Wales’s Own Yorkshire Regiment. Allegedly the class were called Green Arrows, but we always called them Snappers
