@Pacman Bad luck you missed out on the taxi run, might pay to take a pair of earmuffs when you do get the chance. I'm uploading some pix of another great oldie, the Lockheed Constellation. This particular one (aptly named "Connie") was lovingly restored by a volunteer aviation group and arrived at a nearby Air Force base as part of money… Read more

Just watched the travelogue on Jersey, what a fantastic island. Beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, magnificent historical sights and museums and the produce in those markets! Thank you so much for sharing.

I was quite taken by the Ghandi quote in your profile “and for a time can seem invincible. But in the end they always fall.” If ever the world needed proof of that I’m posting a photo of some graffiti painted onto the Berlin Wall and it’s literal English translation…
SORRY WRONG PHOTO! SEE MY POST DIRECTLY ABOVE THIS ONE.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history,
the way of truth and love has always won.
There have been murderers and tyrants,
and for a time they can seem invincible.
But in the end, they always fall. Think of it, always.”

Such a moment came my way in the year 2000 when I was 56. I was invited to ride a penny farthing bike through the High Street Mall of where I live. I have always looked on in awe as…

Hi Jim – Just wanted to thank you posting the beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace by the Celtic Women, I listened in awe to their melodic voices singing a tune which is one of my favourites. I then double dipped and listened to them singing “O Holy Night” which was just as melodic and inspiring. Will keep that URL handy and any time…

Thank you Bob, yes a truly inspirational song. Sky TV often feature Celtic Woman concerts – the Christmas ones are particularly good.

Happened to be chatting about snakes with other members of the Photo Group earlier today and it reminded me of an email I received some time ago. This Aussie viper had the misfortune to get caught under a single strand electric fence, almost certainly as a result of a bulging stomach after having eaten an animal. The intermittent bursts of…

Why on earth would you wish to post here a picture of this wretched creature’s agony ? ! It’s truly horrific and I , for one , really do NOT wish to see it.
