Fernleigh Track – Final Stage
A wild storm just the night before my walk left me dodging fallen tree debris along the final section of track on this particular occasion…

Winter in Australia is a good time to undertake moderate walks to help keep us on the road health wise. Wow! that is some walk, Bob – really interesting location – and history. In a way similar to a favourite walk of mine here in Richmond – what we refer to as ‘the cinder path’ – again a disused railway that connected Richmond to Catterick – the Army Base – and a lovely walk in all seasons. Thank you – lovely post!

Although it is still a fair way to go before Spring arrives, we have to be very wary of not stepping on Gecko lizard hatchlings which have begun to appear. They are so tiny and vulnerable, plonking themselves anywhere they sense some warmth from the sun which includes our back steps which is a busy thoroughfare. This obliging little fellow…
