When she was first famous Lulu used to have her dresses made by her aunt who lived across the road from us. The main Glasgow newspaper said she was “Mobbed by a host of teenagers” I was there. It was about half a dozen 10 year olds and they were all boys and far more interested in the huge American car than in Lulu.

Paddy went with his mates to the sacred healing pool. They wheeled him in his wheelchair into the queue and as people went into the pool and were submerged when they came up they were cured. When paddy’s turn came he wheeled himself in and submerged himself , when he came out , his wheelchair had new tyres.
