I know this has probably been asked a thousand times before, but I’m new here and would love to know, what is your favourite book you’ve read this year, and why?

The Mirror and the Light-Hilary Mantel Very immersive, learned a thing or two and “escapist reading” is my thing. I always avoid contemporary tropes. I’d read the first two and finally got my hands on this last one, a pristine, hardback with perfect dust cover for $1. : )
