Live Chat !!

This morning I had a ‘live chat’ with Purolator Shipping. I had a VERY important letter I had to get to UK, so sent it by express/track/signature with Purolator. For your amusement, here’s how the ‘live chat’ went.

Elizabeth B: Hello! How may I assist you today?

You: I sent a letter express with tracking and signiture with 3 days delivery, THREE days ago!!!.
Here is the tracking so far :
day 1. depart origin
day 2. arrive edmonton
day 2. depart calgary
day 2. arrive sioux falls, usa
day 2. depart sioux falls, usa
day 3. depart louisville, usa
day 3. arrive Philadelphia, usa
day 3. depart philadelphia, usa

You: please explain why it could not have departed origin; arrive toronto; depart toronto; arrive uk?

Elizabeth B: I’d be happy to check on that for you. One moment please.

You: I paid for 3 day delivery, and day 3 it hasnt even left North America !!!! I could have driven from origin to Philadelphia in less time

Elizabeth B: I show this was shipped on the 28th and 3 business days is delivery on Monday so providing there are no Customs delays in the UK, the receiver will get this on time on the 2nd.

You: Please explain why this has gone to Edmonton, Calgary, Sioux Falls, Philadelphia. when it could have gone to Toronto, London UK ???

Elizabeth B: Our trucks/planes need to make connecting flights/servive to pickup and drop off other shipments along the way.

You: you have to be joking liz. more chances of it getting lost; takes longer; and has to go through usa customs. You dont have planes that go to Toronto?

Elizabeth B: I am sure we do but this is the way your shipment went. It is still travelling on time.

You: leaving WHERE on time?? Where is it now, liz?

Elizabeth B: It was last scanned leaving Philadelphia, PA, United States this morning enroute.

You: enroute to WHERE, Washington DC ?

Elizabeth B: To the destination in Milton Keynes.

You: But where is it NOW?

Elizabeth B: I have no update since it left PA.

You: So it could be on its way to Denver for all you know

Elizabeth B: There is no scanning or reason for me to think it is going any where other then Milton Keynes GB.

You: There are direct flights to London UK from Sioux Falls. Why did it go to Philadelphia?

Elizabeth B: We have our own planes, not commercial flights.

You: Liz, If I had spoken to you yesterday when it was in Calgary, you would have told me it was enroute to Milton Keynes, where as, it was enroute to sioux falls!! then philadelphia!!

Elizabeth B: We tender the assistance of UPS for our international deliveries and they travel through the US first. Yes, I would have told you that.

You: okay, so where do all the Canadian mail go to, to depart for UK ?

Elizabeth B: it can go through different depots from different areas in Canada. I do not have access to all of that. This is due for delivery on Monday, providing there are no Customs delays.
