July 4th and Democracy and USA
Today we celebrate the Declaration of Independence in the United States of America.
It is all about a decision to become a separate nation and the idea that all humans are born equal in the eyes of God, the creator or just born that way.
Whether there were other reasons or not, this is what most American believe. We have no person born to rule or with titles at birth and we like it that way. It has been amazing what free individuals can accomplish when they are entitled to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”
So, a great nation has been built and most citizens celebrate a nation that they believe is good and great. I am not saying that our nation does not have the blemish of slavery, exploitation of the indigenous population, or the recent immigrants and the poorer people, but our nation has worked toward more justice and mercy for more people. I can only hope that the trend continues. I am a student of history, but most Americans will celebrate being a citizen of the greatest and best country in the world today and be very thankful for all that they share.
Maybe, just believing the ideals that we are taught have made our leaders live up to the ideals in our constitution and maybe, our citizens, the ordinary people; will and can continue to make a nation ruled by and for all of its people.
Hopefully, we all can all believe in more freedom and justice and a better life for all people and celebrate the ideals of governments by and for the people on this day.
Happy Independence Day, July 4, 2014.
Happy Independence Day Rose !
Happy 4th of July Bloom xxxxx
Very good blog. Happy Independence Day to all true American citizens.
I am proud and blessed of God to have been born in this great country. America
was built on Freedom and justice of and by God which is the main reason it is the free country it still is today. Thank you for sharing Rose.
J, my friend. “Of and by God”? Since when? Even the Pledge of Allegiance has long abolished the mention of that word. Yet we pay homage to every other religion. All but ours on which this country was founded. We, as you know, are looked upon as lowly, inferior, while others are honored and embraced. I dare not say more.
We are all born equal–Sure! But do we remain equal from that moment on? I doubt it, for some people cut up their neighbours in small portions for Sunday lunch, others blow themselves and their fellow bus passengers up to high heaven for an obscure political reason indoctrinated into them by others. Some just live to steal and plunder, others create the most beautiful art and music, and then get bombed to pieces or bludgeoned for their wallets and cell phones ten minutes later by the scum of the earth. Equal? Not in my book. I am me and there are many above me, but the scum are not my equal. To be they have to change their ways.
Thank you for the lovely tribute, and I mean that. But, until we as individuals wake up and realize we are on the path to socialism, this country will never be the same. Out with Obama!
