Expirey Date !!!….whats all that about……

I Have just been reading a topic about (Use by Dates) given to women by some men of senior years……or even worse (Best before Dates) now maybe I am a little naïve and perhaps would have expected this from the young lads, not all I hasten to add, but coming from more mature men I find this arrogant and quite disturbing, one would presume they mean a best before date for sexual attraction and activity, but we still have our uses for cooking, cleaning, shopping etc…….who are they kidding, living in La La Land I think, if you have money men you can pull a young chic when your 110, she knows she is safe..hehe………and before I get burned at the stake, apparently some women set the age limits too………but interestingly enough lots of the young men prefer older women…….. so we maybe still be in with a chance ladies, but we would go there……….nooooo not for me, but each to his own…xx

  1. This is an interesting topic, I was discussing this with some friends at lunch last week, some men , not all i’m pleased to say refuse to believe they are growing older,as a hairdresser i was often faced witha dilemma, should I dye his hair blackas he wants, or do I explain to him that he would look far younger if it were a nice warm brwon , which would make him years younger, one gent came in so proud he had undertaken a brow lift to his eyes, to impress a young lady he had met who was 30 yrs, his junior,, now, who am i to tell a bird he cant fly so black the hair was……..
Some women come in for colour and matching eyebrows, and some of the males in the salon were sniggering, some being me , said , now look gents, with your hair colours , new styles , eye brow lifts, ect: it is no different, so I guess what i have observed is there is still a differentiation between how males think and how females think, about the age differences in both genders, many a young lady has come into my business with anolder male and many an older woman has come in with a younger male , so I do think , slow as it may be , people in general are coming to their senses and realising that age is just a matter of numbers, many of my older clients were much more fashion conscious and looked much better than their younger counterparts , both male and female,
so no-one in my estimation is past their shelf life….. and another thing, the men who make these remarks , couldn’t get an atractive girl when they were young so why do they think they can now hahahahahah sorry guys but true ……

    1. Hi lani, your so right about the hair dying, a subtle shade of brown looks more natural, but jet Black nooooo……….and the shirts open to the waist with a hundred weight of chains draped around their neck……..oldest swinger in town or what…lol xx

      1. You are surprising me now Star. How intolerant you can be !? That outfit of the man warns women to be careful with a guy who absolutely no taste at all ( not only for how getting dressed ). No let them express themself this way and choose an other table. xxxM

        1. Hello Michael, i write tongue in cheek and in jest, how anyone dresses is irrelevant to me, I certainly would not move to another table to avoid anyone’s dress style………. when I am out listening to the bands, top hats, garish coloured wigs and feather boas are the order of the day……..nope, to me clothes doth not maketh the man…………character, personality and intelligence are what matters to me…xxx

    2. Very informed. You know, suspect just me and the trials Life handed me… seldom cared what others thought. Early bald spot told me, well, shave it all, better to fit a helmet. I Ride, u see. Practical man, me. No baggage ’bout what others thought.
Yes, I know, reality is what the ‘other’ guy thinks, yet I am with a caring spouse of 30 + years … For Her I care! Initially She said…’Oh, no! Don’t you dare shave it off!’ So, made me hesitate a few weeks, then shaved I did. Look 20 yrs younger now the mark of age be gone. My Lady has grown to enjoy the look, it fits well with what I do now. A hairdresser not just does hair. She is an intimate friend who will polish my pate and pate me head.. send me out into the World redone.

    3. Its all about libido, There is no other way
Libido cannot be replaced, no matter what you pay,
Go and get your hair dyed, have tucks beneath the eyes
Maybe liposuction works for slimming down the thighs,
Join a good gymnasium, and tread the rolling road,
It may improve your heart rate, shed kilos by the load,
One thing that won’t be restored, I’m telling you the truth,
Is the person you once used to be, with beauty and with youth
With luck, you have become a nicer person through the years
Someone people like to know, who share your joys and fears
They may just love you as you are, with lines and streaks of grey.
If it matters, change your image, But, then, what you are today,
Will be the same, tomorrow, Meself wont go away!

      1. I read and listen to what your saying,
I know it is the truth,
But my brain is stuck at aged eighteen,
and is longing for my youth,
The clock I know I cannot turn back,
but my libido and drive are still intact,
So what’s a girl to do I pray,
when some men say we’ve had our day.
Tis the young one’s they are seeking out,
which leaves us in a pickle,
not even a glance do we get,
so no chance of slap and tickle.
But hey geeljay another day dawns,
for the past we should not mourn,
So glad rags and the lippy on,
life is not so dull, so thus my friend I bid you farewell
I’m off out on the pull……xx

      2. And that sums it all up Geejay….. And as a wise man once said to me , walk along side their shoes , dont try to walk in them , for you can’t they don’t belong to you …..x

    4. Hi Star, With the spirit you show in your humour and sense of fun, I am sure that lurking round the corner is that bit of magic that will go boom. The secret now is to find the guy worthy of sharing the sparks. I’m a bit philosophical about age. Cant do much about, but in my case, I feel lucky to be sound in wind and limb, and in my own estimation , mind too. My own race has been run, but I still find great treasure in the friendships I have formed over the years, and the roles I have experienced. I was elated yesterday by a longish phone call from a friend of 20 years ago, who had tracked me down for a ‘chat’. There, now, I didnt mean to get serious.

      1. Hi geeljay, I think it’s brilliant that someone has tracked you down after such a long time, just shows that they must have good memories of you and wanted to be in touch again, what a compliment……….geeljay without a sense of humour and fun life is hardly worth living…….good family and friends are all……xx

    1. Haaaaa Rose don’t think the fella would appreciate your advice to me…….he is eight years older………but…….i wont knock till i tried it…..so any eighteen year olds going spare…lol xx

  2. I don’t know if I could be bothered with a much younger bloke ,I find older men better lovers .
And why stay with someone who doesn’t appreciate you as you are ?
    Dump them !
I know it isn’t easy ,but at the end of the day …much better for your health !

  3. Hello nmod, I’m with you on that one, the young may have the stamina, but the older gent the expertise………yep !! if they don’t like you the way you are, kick them to the kerb that’s what I say……xx

  4. Have you heard of any treatment that hides your real age by a look on your hand Star?????
Person’s hand will always tell the age age no matter how much colour one uses for the hair. And that is good. xxxM

    1. Well so they say Michael……..so you will still be peeking at our hands to judge our age……tut tut, we just cannot win can we……..where’s me velvet gloves hehe xxx

  5. I have never understood the fascination with hidings age in either males or females.

Are you healthy? Are you reasonably fit for your age? Does everything still work?

If so, then there’s only one more thing you need. A damned good sense of humour, as the author of this blog and several contributors obviously seem to have.

To my mind you are what you are and no amount of slap, plastic surgery or hair grafts will change that, so get used to it and use the advantages you were either born with or have learned over the years, but above all…..try to be happy.

    1. Words of wisdom as usual Waylander, BUT VANITY, thy name is woman. I need to look my best, The hair is on my head and has to coaxed into some reasonable look, and the rest of me needs to be as presentable as possible. I will have to keep working on my sense of humor.

    2. You are a wise owl Way, and what you say is true……….but you see some of us ladies just feel better and more confident with the slap and lippy on. that’s not to say we would never be seen without it………..but yes, we have to get happy with our lot, no good hankering after what we cannot change, looks are superficial, its what lies beneath them that matters….xx

  6. More stamina, better lovers, more wise Norma??? The reason for this is just the age. Elderly men can’t do anything fast as I’ve noticed by myself!!! Take a look at my profil please.

You can take that for good cos when I see how long it takes me today to get all the dishes cleaned. Good job I have a chair in the kitchen, good job, but I have the stamina with myself. M

    1. I’ve checked your profile Michael ,it doesn’t say how long it takes you to do the dishes …but I like the following quote you have written there.
“An intelligent man will open your mind, a handsome man will open your eyes and a Gentleman will open your heart.”
I’m all for an intelligent gentleman ! 🙂

      1. Also way, as wise as you are, there are a lot of Barracoutas out there , who would try to race off one’s honey bun in a flash ,,, so we ladies have to always try to look our best …. hahahaha …

    2. Michael, I never thought about a chair by the sink. I will remember to sit down when possible. I guess we all get tired before we get finished. A good idea to just sit down when possible.

  7. I prefer to grow old gracefully as they say. As long as I am fit and healthy, can have some fun, I do not see the point of dying my hair ect.

Just to enjoy life and go with the flow will do me fine.

  8. Oh thank you Rose……..i do my humble best hehe………. and i enjoy reading the men’s comments too ………. always good to hear a mans point of view..xx
