DIY – Done!

Have you ever found yourself ddriving faster, having noticed that the fuel gauge is getting low? You know it’s not going to help, and if anything, you’re going to use more fuel, but it kind of happens by itself. Well that’s why I think I got the last wall painted so quickly today. The paint was getting a bit low by the time I started the second coat, and I didn’t want to have to go and get more when I was so near finished. And the nearest I got to a mishap, was tripping over the phone and charger leads, no fewer than 5 times before I decided that anyone of any importance would have my mobile number as well, so I could unplug them. Now, however, I had to put the furniture back in place. I have 4 items of furniture on castors, and in putting those items into place, I managed to run my toes down a total of 3 times, caught my fingers in cupboard doors or drawers twice, and dropped a 1 1/2 liter bottle of water on my foot, and even now I don’t know if I like the new arrangement!
On the plus side, it’s always astounded me, that my tv had no buttons. It seemed uncanny that without the remote, it simply couldn’t be operated. Well, when I picked it up to put it in it’s new position, it bleeped at me. I can’t remember why, but i had to move it again, and it bleeped again, and when I looked at the screen, there was a message saying ‘No Video Connection’. That was no surprise, given that the aerial lead wasn’t plugged into the BT box yet. But it was only when I put one hand at a time on the tv, that I realised the buttons for manual operation were almost invisibly integrated into one end of the tv. I’ve had this tv for the 17 months I’ve lived here, and I was convinced there were no buttons. But I had a look at the instruction manual again, and sure enough, there is NO mention of any buttons, other than the ones on the remote! A relief really, ‘cos it shows I’m not entirely losing my marbles! 🙂
