Here’s A Question That Was Posed To The Dalai Lama..

” What Thing About Humanity Surprises You The Most ? ”

His Answer Was : “Man”

” Because He Sacrifices His Health In Order To Make Money
Then He Sacrifices His Money To Recuperate His Health
And Then He Is So Anxious About The Future

That He Doesn’t Enjoy The Present,
And As A Result He Doesn’t Live In The Present Or The Future
And He Lives As If He’s Never Going To Die,

And Then He Dies Having Never Really Lived.”

A friend sent this to me today and I was struck by the truth in the Dalai Lama’s words. What an incredibly wise man he is.

I can remember back in 1960, when the Chinese invaded and took over Tibet, the Dalai Lama, then just a young man, was spirited by his followers, through the Himalayan Mountains into India in a rescue that was both daring and almost a miraculous, in that it was successful against all odds.

He’s lived in exile in India ever since, and is a living example of a truly deeply spiritual, introspective and wise man, but what I find most impressive about him, is his complete understanding and compassion towards all mankind, as is evidenced by what he said above – just one of his many quotes.

I am awed and impressed by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama.
