Amaze Yourself: Set Out and Don’t Quit

I just got back from New York City and a Climate March of 61/2 hours and about 7 miles of marching. I AMAZED myself by just setting out and not QUITTING. Collapsing was the only honorable way out and the march was also the way back to our bus.

I really did not dream when I set out that I would need to be on my feet with just what I could carry for a whole day. I seriously downsized what I normally carry from a large purse that could hold my small computer to a tiny purse, 4 by 6 inches, a flat pouch under my shirt, and a jacket with two pockets. I am not the natural beauty type nor am I the least bit athletic. I took lipstick and a comb and a small swiss knife and a tiny plastic poncho, a tiny light, pens and paper and tiny readers and tinted readers and the essential tiny pill case. I or others may need aspirin. The pens and paper were for writing down directions and other essential information. I really had to consider what was essential for me and now I can travel most anywhere, quickly and easily with very little baggage. I have freed myself up a great deal and I have LET GO of a lot of crippling fear and negativity. What can we do if we set out and DON’T Quit? I did plan sensibly, but I still just LET MYSELF GO as far as I could, and I made it ALL THE WAY.

I took risks. I trusted others and I just tried to be as little trouble as possible and do all that I could. I found the people to be unconcerned or just okay or incredibly caring and helpful. There were about 50 of us on a bus for about 30 hours and I don’t know how many did the march since there were 310,000 marchers. I did march for a cause that I believe is important. I would not just be uncomfortable if there was not a very good reason. I would never climb a mountain to just test myself. I test myself by doing what I think is worth the effort.

I used to say I read too much and I did and do, but I haven’t challenged myself physically ever, and I am so glad that I did. I wrote this because you may need to set out and just not quit and you may need to amaze yourself. Stretch your limits and when you relax you will still be expanded greatly.
