When Next You Hear
I came across this the other day in looking through some files. I wrote it some time ago. It seems to me to have survived the test of time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it.
When you next hear…
A loon’s anguish sounding cry
Know it for what it is truly;
A reflection of my loneliness
When you are out of reach
When you see the Osprey pass,
Soaring on magnificent wings
Know that it is my spirit
Being carried back to you
When you hear the wind murmur
In the shoreline rushes
Know that it is my voice
Whispering your name
When you hear the wavelets
Lapping at the shore
Know that it is only me;
Restless without my princess
