You know I get a bit bemused…I just wonder why members have a photo of their cat/ their dog/ a flower/ a sunset/ a sea view/a country view/ clouds/a cartoon character/a toy etc, etc instead of their own photograph…..or is it just me…?

We use call signs rather than names in here most of the time. Th anonymity appeals to a lot of us. Some chose to show their photograph others prefer the anonymity of an animal picture, a silly picture or a funny saying
I tend to alternate between the three.
Each does what they are comfortable with, I suppose.

Well Bazzer, I dont see the necessity of putting up a pic of myself. Does it really matter what I look like? I much prefer looking at the love of my life…. my pooch 🙂
I agree with you bazzer, as i do favor seeing a picture of the person, rather than of something else. But, i suppose it comes down to what one is most comfortable with, when joining these sites. Some folks prefer to remain anonymous, and that is their priviledge. And, as well, in this day and age of scammers, one never knows. But, it would still be nice to know what your friend looks like, no matter….to be honest bazz, my sentiments have always been same, and when i request a friend, i still look for folks who i can get an idea of what they look like, although i still appreciate them for what they are, kind, etc, even though not sure how they look.

I just like picturing the person I’m speaking with, it doesn’t matter at all what they look like except that I like having the picture in my mind as I’m chatting with them. Just my 2 cents 😛

I too agree with U Bazzer I feel that I am not talking to a real person when they are anonymous
Some people like me Bazzer,prefer to show an avatar to the world, for privacy,and put thier real pic on their album page.

I like change, some times my pic is here and other times feel like something different. It makes no difference to me with members what they choose for their profile pic, I am just glad they are here xxx
I agree Bazzer I like to see what the person looks like but there are alot of members on here that would prefer not to put up their picture but will put it in their album on S.C.
It doesn’t worry me one way or the other but I can understand that some people prefer to see a photo of the person they chat with.
I do prefer to see a picture of the person also ,however this does not have any influence on whom I befriend , as I think that a nice personality wins every time !
If not picture, an avatar it’s better than a blank ,in my opinion .

Oh my, so many I would like to respond to. I enjoy seeing the person, but I respect and can understand for whatever reason someone may choose not to. I believe that all of my closer chatter friends eventually have shown me their pictures and more personal things/people in their lives as our friendship developed. It makes me giggle when I see that some chatters change their pix almost everyday. I dont have the time nor the desire to do that. LOL Guess its not a priority to me. I do like sharing pix with the chatters, and looking at what they choose to share with me/us. I did have a pix on my facebook album which someone asked me to remove, they told me I looked spooky. Imagine that? Helensophie spooky??? Really??? LMAO….oh well…and I rather liked myself in that pix too!
