A Story told to me by an Irish politician many years back.

A Story told to me by an Irish Politician. Many years back.
Pat wrote home to Dublin asking his mother to send by post the overcoat he had forgotten to pack.
In due course the coat arrived. There were no buttons on it. But there was a note pinned to the pocket it said.
Dear Pat,
I have sent your coat, but with the heavy buttons on, the postage would have been more that I can afford. So I cut them off and you will find them in the pocket.
Your loving mother.

  1. I think this may have a simple explanation , the woman may have had the parcel weighed first and then with the excuse of putting a note inside she may have sneaked in the buttons with the note before sealing it ,
Clever lady I would say !

  2. Why is that not possible ? We are talking bout times when people trusted each other ! And when people helped each other !
Unless of course ,the story it’s meant to be a joke , and not a real story !

  3. Of course it is a joke. Sorry if I offended you. Believe me Not Intended to offend anyone.. .But be assured I will not be posting any further Jokes. or any posts.
I should have realised that not everyone has a sense of humour. After all what smart lady would be trying to rob the post office?

    1. I’m not offended at all ! I just thought it was a real story ,and I was trying to find out a justification to the story.
I dont think that makes me or anybody else to be lacking a sense of humor
There’s no need to make a big drama out of it. Relax , life’s to short to worry about little things !
enjoy the site it is for everybody!
      cheers
