Just What We Needed

My sister said, “It was just what we needed.” She was speaking of the Memorial Service and lunch that we had today for her mother-in-law, Nancy. The service was a time of prayer, songs and stories about Nancy. And then into the gathering space to share a simple luncheon–chicken and ham sandwiches, deviled eggs–green, blue and pink from Easter dye, spinach salad, fruit, cake, oatmeal raisin bars, coffee and water. A celebration of the life of a wonderful woman.
