Ahh so this is what Valentines Day is!!
I often wondered why we have a valentines day …….
There are varying opinions as to the origin of Valentine’s Day….
Some experts state that it originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries.
Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer’s daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it “From Your Valentine”.
Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying him.
In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine.
I say how about a Happy Singles Day?? ha ha!!!!!!!

Valentines day is a load of commercial hype debz. Started with 3 cards from overseas gentlemen requesting my bank account details, I felt so loved lol.
Lovely roses and card from gordie and a bone in a red ribbon from charlie, just a silly commercial day love.
And I say yes happy singles day all single chatters xxxxx
Over here we have so many ‘Happy Whatevers’……I often wonder why so many walk around with a upside down smile!!!!! lol

you dont need a special day to tell someone hoiw much you love them. i tell my wife everyday!! perhaps you havent met the right one yet deb im sure when you do he will tell you everyday to.

Debz, The most special valentines I received was not all the “Glitz” Flowers, Candy, Cards, etc. It was a simple heart shaped little box… filled with a few chocolates, with a plastic flower on the top. My dad got me one every year. well into my twenties. I was 26 when passed away. Gosh… of all the things out there for Valentines and this is the best memory!!!!! Am I a romantic…. yes… but love my dad, more than I can say!!!!!

I truly admire and respect all of the people that have found that true love to cherish. As far as I am concern ..”Happy Singles Day” it is because,,Being there, done that and have the Tshirt. As far as family love..I couldn’t be more blessed and for me that’s all that matters!!!!

i used to get 5/6 valentine cards every year but i cant affurd to buy them now lol.
