My Plums

4 years….4 loooong years I have waited  for my Victoria  Plum Tree to fruit….much excitement at the beginning  of the year when small Acorn sized balls began to appear…..fast forward  to today when I found the fruit  had began to fall…. but this fruit looked nothing like the deep Purple fruit I had been anticipating……so off to Miss Google I go….I asked a few questions  and was informed  it was a Cape Gooseberry….what the heck are those….looked nothing like a Goosegog and my fruit has a stone in it….I know this cos I pulled up my big girl pants and popped one in my mouth….ya never know I could have been unwittingly poisoning myself….the fruit is sweet and juicy with a slight tart taste……now I am a picky bugger and am very selective in what enters my mouth so I thought I was very brave…. anyway the fruit is identical to a orange Cherry Tomato and after a  few more chats with Miss Google ( we are now on each other’s Christmas  card lists ) it turns out the Victoria  Plums are Cherry Plums……needless to say 4 years have passed and it’s a little late to go back to the supplier of my ‘Victoria ‘ Plum tree to complain….ripped off I was but I always think lies eventually  come to the surface irregardless of the circumstances……do you…
