DIY 3 After all that!
Given my almost suicidal cavorting about over the last few days, I thought I’d better write an update, just in case anyone thought I’d drilled into an electric cable and electrocuted myself, or screwed my head to the wall. Nope. I actually made some progress, in that the curtain rail is up, and the curtains are on it. Not the intended curtains for that window, ‘cos as I said in an earlier blog, they have loops at the top, so need a pole instead of a rail. So I’ve used the temporary ones again for now. However! After all the trouble of drilling 5 holes at different heights, before I found where the lintel ended, I now find that the temporary curtains are too short! They do reach the sill, but only just. So I’ll have to get the long ones altered. Grrrrrrr.
I’ve got some painting done, and it’s not dangerous, as I don’t need to stand on anything any taller than my little steps. But I did need to go out and buy a new paint roller and tray, (got a free paint brush included too!) and a spreader thing, apparently called a chisel knife. I was quite chuffed to see I’m not the only one who gets things wrong. The guy forgot to press the + key, AND the decimal point, and came up with the impressive total of £450,375 !! Could’ve bought the whole building for that, so I asked him if he’d accept a cheque, or would I need to go to the ATM? We agreed it would be quicker and easier if he just recalculated.
Well what with my doing roast lamb for dinner and the snooker being on tv, I’m finished for today, so barring food poisoning or over-excitement, I should be safe for the rest of today. Thanks for reading 🙂
Well done Steve! I hope you enjoyed your roast 🙂 xx
